Sony's PSVR2 headset becomes a one-year-old today, and the platform holder has marked the day by announcing some new games for the VR device. Three all-new titles in The Wizards - Dark Times: Brotherhood, Little Cities: Bigger!, and Zombie Army VR have been confirmed, while Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate has been dated for 27th June 2024 and Arizona Sunshine 2 has been treated to some free DLC. You can learn more below.
The Wizards - Dark Times: Brotherhood - Out Today
"The Wizards – Dark Times: Brotherhood is an action-adventure spellcasting game where you become a powerful Wizard, and thanks to the power of Playstation VR2, you can cast a variety of spells with your very own hands," explains head of marketing Pawel Nitta. "As developers, we’ve meticulously crafted an immersive world where players wield the power of magic through intuitive gesture-based spellcasting, a staple mechanic of The Wizards franchise. With the full might of PS5’s hardware at our disposal, players can expect breathtaking visuals and seamless gameplay while traveling through the realm of Meliora in single-player and 3-player co-op experience."
Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate - Out 27th June
"Under fire in World War 2 we see the player harness their trusty watch companion’s time-traveling abilities to gather an eclectic arsenal of weapons, only to return moments later to gain the upper hand! Playing as Asher Neumann, players can seamlessly time travel at will, exploring immersive worlds and experiencing exhilarating action while solving mind bending puzzles and wielding their time-traveling powers to reshape the course of history. We’re also thrilled to share other, exciting news, so make sure to stay to the end of the video."
Little Cities: Bigger! - Out 12th March
"Little Cities: Bigger! unites our signature diorama city building with over 18 months of dreamy update content – our most substantial slice of relaxing island crafting ever. It’s been a blast playing with the power of PlayStation VR2 to get the game in tip-top condition. You’ll feel everything from the satisfying ‘whomp’ of a well-placed mountain to the brush-stroke sensation of island sculpting with Sense controller haptics. And thanks to headset feedback, experience world-rumbling volcanic eruptions while tiny helicopters rush to the rescue!"
Zombie Army VR - Out 2024
"Complete with online 2 player co-op, the thrilling campaign sees you reprise the role of a Deadhunter as they fight their way across war torn Europe doing battle with the zombie hordes. Choose your weapon from an authentic World War 2 arsenal including sniper rifles, submachine guns, pistols, and explosives as you lay waste to the undead and free Europe."
Arizona Sunshine 2: Season of Chaos - Out Today
"The goodest boy ever just got a free, furry upgrade: Meet Corgi, your new fearless companion Buddy, who’s available in-game later today! Dive back into Arizona Sunshine 2 and face off the toughest Freddies by choosing the Corgi as your preferred four-legged sidekick through the newly added Cosmetics Screen. And that’s not all – get ready for more multiplayer mayhem with three new Horde mode maps, dropping one each month from March to May, allowing up to four players to battle waves of zombies together. It’s gritty, it’s intense, and it’s also free of charge."
Soul Covenant - Out 2024
"In a near-future Japan that sees humanity fight for survival against a mech regime, you’re tasked to take on hordes of encroaching enemies and colossal, powerful foes in tense, melee-based combat. You’re not alone though. You’re but one of a four-strong troop, joined by three other avatars (in the form of NPCs or controlled by other players). If a comrade falls, they can still contribute to the battle, as their remains transform into a weapon that can be equipped, giving you access to axes, dual swords, chainsaws and more. Acquired weapons can be strengthened further through items dropped by downed enemies. With each one offering two different forms, you have a growing number of versatile combat styles with different reaches and power sets to try out. It’s why in the world of Soul Covenant, troops share the very specific phrase before heading into the battlefield: ‘I’ll make sure to pick up your bones’."

Fine, but where is Astro Bot?
Fine, but where is Half-life Alyx?
@Max_the_German absolutely. I love my PSVR2 but the lack of Astrobot news is concerning. At least just confirm that it is happening.....even an enhanced port.
They're saying they're working on PC compatibility. I'm surprised this isn't mentioned here.
Missed some serious own goals in a lack of a psvr2 version of blood and truth , iron man - and the wider world with as others have said - half life Alyx - psvr2 is great comfy , good screen , inside out tracking is a win in terms of connectivity ? But the games have been super underwhelming my still 2 most played are kayak vr ( hidden gem imo ) and the game that sells the system most in terms of wow is no man’s sky ! Whats going on here
When are they going to give information on the resolution that each game has?, when you play a normal game you know if it is at 4k or not. Why don't they do the same with VR2 games?
@Max_the_German rescue mission really needs to be ported.
Sure, but in bigger news:
"Sony Interactive Entertainment content communications manager Gillen McAllister said, “We’re pleased to share that we are currently testing the ability for PlayStation VR2 players to access additional games on PC to offer even more game variety in addition to the PlayStation VR2 titles available through PlayStation 5. We hope to make this support available in 2024, so stay tuned for more updates.”
I've really enjoyed my first year of psvr2, played some great games. Though after 200+ hours in gt7, to me it's still the best VR game.
Looking forward to wanderer, zombie army vr should be great fun, and I'm always up for more arizona sunshine.
@Fritz167 Probably because in order to achieve that 90Hz/120Hz, the resolution isn't exactly something impressive to talk about.
Utterly bizarre that the best game on PSVR1, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, doesn't have a PSVR2 version.
@breakneck It's a separate article.
@Max_the_German I so want Astro bot. Read the room Sony.
PSVR2 does not track the DualSense controller. For that reason, Astro Bot would have to be completely remade. A port wouldn't be possible.
Nothing first party. Very lackluster lineup.
@Max_the_German Waiting for ps5 pro release I reckon.
Had a great year with PSVR2. Looking forward to more. Gran Turismo 7 in VR still blows my mind every time I play it.
this is just sad. vr is faring far worse than i imgined (and i was being very cynical at the time). instead of 5-10 years of growing pains, i am starting to doubt the tech will ever manage to find a mainstream audience period.
So no Aces of Thunder I guess
@SirRealDeal Exactly. But people just looove to complain, ya know..
With that said, a sequel would be awesome. Now, rumors of a new Astro game have been circulating, but I don't think it's a VR exclusive. Maybe a hybrid (fingers crossed)?
People need to be realistic. The industry is in a tough position right now, with investments being subject to an unprecedented level of scrutiny both internally and from shareholders. Hence, it's unrealistic to think Sony will mobilize a first-party team to develop an exclusive to a platform with about a million install base. So, they're actually being smart by funding smaller teams to develop or port a diverse range of titles.
Wanderer is surely looking like it could turn out to be a top 5 contender.
Bought a psvr2 back in Nov last year and not even opened it yet. I been meaning to try RE4 and Village but so many other non vr games I want to get to.
@Max_the_German Exactly that!!
@themightyant couldn't agree more 👏
Seriously? They think they're gonna compete with Quest with this? We already new about Arizona 2 and everythi g once again is just so mediocre. Meanwhile Quest has SO MANY excusive bangers, and so many PSVR 1 games need porting over.
If only they put half the effort i to this than those live services that will inevitably fail...
Give someone the Uncharted IP to make a VR game! Get another Marvel IP! Even some old forgotten PS2 and 3 era IPs that havent been used in a long time...
@ThunderCracker that's the exact problem. A lot of great games so such a laughable and mediocre lineup for the vr2 means no one will buy these or the system...
I like Wanderer and interested in Little Cities too. Both have gameplay mechanics that seem suited for VR.
In terms of potential backcatalogueing it would be nice to see SW: Squadrons, Iron Man and Blood and Truth for example making their way to the platform. Those three were pretty good in VR and could bolster the line up even more.
