Sword Art Online, the anime franchise that's based on a fictional MMORPG, is actually embracing the genre with upcoming PS5 title Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream. Well, kind of. We don't have too many details at the time of writing, but Bandai Namco describes this project as a "large-scale multiplayer-focused adventure".
The press release continues: "Fractured Daydream is a cross-play battle action game featuring thrilling boss raids and co-op quests."
To be honest, we're looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Up until now, Bandai Namco's numerous Sword Art Online games have primarily featured single-player adventures, so Fractured Daydream should offer something a bit different.
It's targeting a 2024 launch, and you can sign up for the game's closed beta test right now (here's the link). It'll be live from the 11th March to the 17th March.

Is the author of this thing still obsessed with sexual abuse to the point that every arc has to include it?
> cross-play battle action game
Well, looks like a mobile title.
The game also has a story mode so I'm thinking this may be very similar to Granblue Fantasy Relink in the way it's set up, if so then I'm happy with that.
