Chants of Sennaar is a great puzzle game, definitely worth nabbing that if you're interested.
I used to always check out the sales until I realised 95% of the games arent discounted, they are just reflecting their real life value. The scam is when there is a game that's like 5 years old and psn has its "real" value before the discount at like 69.99
@Blaze215
Exactly this. Everytime there is a “sale” I go to my wishlist. The prices are just dropped to the same “sale” price every time (which I have obviously already decided is too high). There is no gradual drop over time as with physical games. Due to U.K. law they cannot have a constant “sale” price listed so, periodically, prices are increased back to “normal” (read “ridiculously high”) levels. It’s very rare that there is actually a price drop, just periodic price rises.
@thefourfoldroot1
Buddy I can't buy every single game on my list every single time.
If I had one chance to buy everything I want in a sale I'd have a couple games.
I miss sales, I skip sales and I often wait for the next sale, because the timing is not right for me. It's a good thing that they get discounted regularly.
Something like the Arkham collection goes for 7 bucks on sale. Do you really expect that to go any lower?
@Specky I actually bought the Arkham collection last month on that sale, that's one of the 5% that's actually a good deal 🙂
@thefourfoldroot1 if you check out psprices, you may notice that that's not always the case (our memory is not as good as we think it is). There you actually see how many games have gotten the same discounts or not. Most of the time, the price keeps dropping or in some cases, it shows that a game was cheaper in a previous sale.
Skull and Bones will probably not last through the year, highly advise not getting that unless you just HAVE to scratch that pirate itch and don’twant to wait for MS’s pirate game to release on our consoles.
Great - I've been waiting for crisis core to get a discount.
In my experience the prices for sale items do often vary? Don't understand why anyone would say they don't as there's resource on the net to show that they do...
I also always buy my PSN credit from shopto or cdkeys. You get at least %10 off and if you pick right, I usually get a %15 discount - all for a few minutes tapping on a keyboard or swiping my tab. I highly recommend getting into this habit.
I try to top up at the beginning of the month and tell myself I wont spend more, but I always do
@dskatter Have you played it?
@naruball
I do that too. You can see the lines and bars constantly dropping to the same level in quite regular periods. It’s an interesting read. There can indeed be some bigger variances, but generally only for relatively new games. You tend to hit a floor below which a game doesn’t drop, no matter how old.
@Specky
I’m not arguing to not have repeated sales, just for prices to drop over time, rather than oscillate between two fixed points.
And, yes, I expect that. No additional cost for the game means the price can and should drop to go through everyone who would eventually buy the game at some price.
@Titntin @Titntin crisis core is currently £18 physical in Argos, £20 in the game collection too
@Duel Nope. I saw the Ubisoft name, saw the mediocre quality in all the media I’ve seen about it, and the number of players in this thing are not high.
Wouldn’t waste my money.
Sea of Thieves.... what a joke.
AC Mirage is here in Germany 24 € and the deluxe 30 € (physical).
Is anyone here, that buys Ubisoft games on release date still?
Also if an AAAA game costs 45 € so shortly after release, how can anyone dare to charge us 70 - 80 € for only 3A games?
Outrageous!
Last weekend my brother and a few of my mates tried to find pga Road to the masters for the advertised price of £16.99 for that weekend only..they couldn't as it only showed up fir £59.99. I looked myself and could not find it discounted anywhere in the store despite this site and others stating it was..very odd.
@Northern_munkey I managed to get it for that price. I wish I hadn't. Don't like it as much as the 2k game.
@thefourfoldroot1 yup. That's very common indeed.
Don't get fooled by the cheap Back 4 Blood pricing. There's no one playing and it's nearly impossible to find a match... that was true last summer when I tried it because it was part of Premium. First game on there I was excited to get to try. Terrible.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner
Thanks mate, good information, and appreciated.
I've not bought a physical game in about 5 years though. When you are old and have a back condition, standing up to change discs means you don't play!
I'm very happy to be digital only for many reasons, and I'll pay the uplift this undoubtedly has to remain this way.
@Northern_munkey
That's really surprising as I'm sure I saw it!
I paid about £35 for it in a sale last year. I really enjoy it myself, best golf game I've played in ages and once you are used to taking shots with the stick, I'd never go back to tapping the X key again. I didnt get on so much with the 2k title, but others have...
@Nexozi that's really odd. I own both games and I really like both. I'm glad you were able to take advantage of the discounted price even though you don't like it.
@Titntin I know really weird. There was a similar thing when the subs went up and some people could take advantage of a reduced renewal for the ps extra tier but others couldn't. I couldn't and just ended up renewing anyway 🤣
Ubisoft games are always on sale soon after their release, but I think that they're breaking the record with Skull & Bones.
@Northern_munkey Maybe just need to give it a bit longer to get used to the differences. From what I've seen so far there is def a lot more content in the EA one.
@Northern_munkey it wasn’t advertised properly.
Once finding the £60 version, you had to click the 3 dots and then select the other version. Or at least that’s how I had to go buy it
@Nexozi actually pga2k23 has way more content than the EA game. The EA game however has much better player customisation and skill upgrades. I mainly play EA's game but I play pga2k23 online with my brother and a few friends a lot more.
Crisis Core FF7 Reunion: £29.99/$1.99! The exchange rate is crazy these days 😆
Dangit, Star Ocean 2nd Story R is never on sale. I'm interested but not $50 interested.
@thefourfoldroot1 yup. Checking my wishlist every time seeing if GTA trilogy has hit something lower than £27 yet... 🤣
@pyrrhic_victory that’s gotta be a typo. The US store shows Crisis Core for $29.99
I figured. It's pretty funny though
$1.99 for Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is too sweet deal, guess a typo
@dimi $1.99 for Crisis Core is a typo. It's $29.99 USD.
