TV and film actor Ian McShane has lent his voice to a comprehensive overview trailer for Dragon's Dogma 2 ahead of its PS5 launch next week. Clocking in at just shy of eight minutes, the Deadwood star introduces you to the sequel's story, world, the pawns you can recruit, and the monsters you'll face throughout your journey. Check it out above.
As McShane explains, a dragon selects a challenger by claiming their heart from their body and having them rise as the Arisen. With this mark on your custom character, you'll need to put a crew together and become powerful enough to slay the beast once and for all. Along the way, you'll meet a variety of unique bosses to take down, utilising different classes and a deep combat system. The game releases on the same day as PS5 exclusive Rise of the Ronin: 22nd March 2024.
Has McShane's voiceover got you even more excited for next Friday? Let us know in the comments below.

This is excellent. He could've easily phoned this in if he wanted to, but he clearly didn't. As if I didn't want this game enough already.
Ian McShane is one of the best ways to sell me on a game. Anyone else here used to watch Lovejoy?
I hope Capcom paid him more than a tenner for this.
N.i.c.e. dragon dogma 2 looks amazing.and i know the mage class is the best just like the mage/sorcerer in the iconic dragon dogma dark arisen.word up son
@AK4tywill Classic. I would watch it with my parents when I was little.
The Continental in Dragon's Dogma 2 confirmed!
@AK4tywill He's very good in Sexy Beast and the John Wick films, too
Time to watch Deadwood again
It only makes sense, seeing John Wick being made in character creator. Only adult sized wolves will be harmed in my play through
We can only hope for as much profanity in Dragon's Dogma 2 as there is in Deadwood.
I love you, Lovejoy!!!
PS has marketing rights, I guess? This is a very PS style trailer. And i'd not be surprised if PS set all of this up
But I still need someone to convince me this game is worth a gamble. I enjoyed FF16, but by the end I was sick of the environments, and this seems similar and even more bland in places.
I don't know if it's just what Japanese devs think suits a western medieval inspired RPG, or what (DD2, FF16 and Forspoken all look the same) But I don't know if I have it in me to trudge through another environment like this.
Once I learned his dad used to play for United I went right off him
I hope someone guides capcom to add a locked 30fps option for console.
@Fyz306903 Dude Sexy Beast is one of my all time favourites. Such a great film.
@Intr1n5ic I got into it later via ITV3 re-runs. It felt a bit like a pedestrian version on Uncharted or Indiana Jones all set in North Norfolk (where I've holidayed since I was little).I loved it, a nostalgia for an older time.
I'll watch the trailer just for him but I'm not playing an open world type game w/o fast travel. I finally just started playing Ghost of Tsushima, that I purchased years ago, bought the Iki Island DLC, but refuse to pay $10 for lip synching for, and I was overly excited that the hot springs - as well as most other places - are fast travel spots. 😁
Even though im really looking forward to the game..I hope more variety in monsters encounters, other than that was shown..I didnt see much new as a whole..
1 week to go!
Peaches and pears on the f***ing bar, spoon it out amongst yourselves
Never heard of this actor but the trailer itself looks great.
