Konami's PS5 remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will be the subject of a future episode in the series' YouTube legacy series, where David Hayter guides you through the classic stealth franchise. The first part was posted today, and it is teased that the future episodes will "delve into the epic, long-awaited remake of what many fans consider to be the best game in the entire franchise".
For the rest of the video, Solid Snake voice actor David Hayter explains why the Metal Gear Solid franchise is so beloved and touches on the first three entries that form the PS5, PS4 Master Collection. The likes of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain are expected to be bundled into a second volume, but Konami hasn't shared official word yet.
As for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the PS5 remake comes from Virtuos and an initial announcement trailer and in-engine video have been released so far. Are you excited for the remake? Sneak into the comments below.

Gonna wait and see on the remake. 3 is a fantastic game as-is and I don't have a ton of faith in Konami tbh.
BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD REMAKE MGS.
Meh. I'm withholding my excitement until i see what it turns out like. Metal Gear without Kojima is not a prospect that fills me with hope tbh.
Yeah, what we've seen of the remake (which is admittedly not a lot) looks a bit too glossy and soulless. I'll probably play it, but I'm expecting it to feel like it's missing something vital. Though if you asked me what that thing is I wouldn't be able to tell you.
I love David Hayter and he'll always be Snake in my heart but I don't trust Konami with the development of any game.
Loool no faith in Konami in the comments.
Its a saving grace that kojima has technically already made this game. They just need to remake the assets and spruce it up without ruining it.
Some have failed on this but hopefully they respect the game enough to do it justice.
@PoeticJustice basically don't do what SE are doing with FF7
what’s with all the Konami hate? wasn’t everyone asking for a Metal Gear return before the master collection and delta were even announced? everyone is entitled to their own opinion but i think we should all be glad we have these. Something is better than nothing
It seems like they really are expecting to release the remake this year then if they are going to start promoting it like this.
Call me an optimist but I'm looking forward to the Snake Eater remake. It looked good from what little they've shown. Here's hoping my optimism isn't misplaced!
SNAKE. SNAAAAKE. SNAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKKEEEEE!
I'd be excited but that gameplay trailer was god awful to me.
Snake looked lifeless, the environment was great but with the character models just don't fit the world.
Metal Gear without Kojima is not Metal Gear. His unique and quirky creative vision is so integral to the DNA of the series that without his input, it will just feel like a knock-off. Or so I suspect, anyway.
@Funnydoode91
That was before Kojima got fired and Konami won’t give him the rights to the franchise he created.
It’s not Metal Gear if Kojima isn’t involved.
As much as I’m looking forward to the Snake Eater remake I doubt it’ll be the same or feel the same without Kojima
@TimeDelayedGamer
I remember him being behind Silent Hills many years ago before he got fired.
Norman Reedus was going to be playing the character of it, now they paired up and started the Death Stranding series.
Kojima hasn’t lost his touch at least
@JohntheRaptor Yes DON'T DO THAT!!! No one should do that 😅
@LifeGirl After the recent Silent Hill releases you'd be right to do that.
This should be a slam dunk (even without kojima). The tracks are already laid. Just use MGSV as a foundation and don't mess with the original story or script. If Konami can't get that right they don't deserve to be part of the industry. It's the biggest open goal in gaming.
@JohntheRaptor I was gonna say the exact same thing — and I really enjoy FFVII Remake for what it is, but I felt that MGS was already narratively perfect as it was — please don't make it an overly-padded out meta commentary on the notion of storytelling or something. I think the recent Resident Evil remakes strike the right balance of updating the original without departing too drastically to what made the original so appealing
I am so torn on if to wait for this or pick up the last bundle they put out. I never actually played MGS:3 due to always owning a certain other console after the PS2… not knowing wether this remake will be a solid snake or a dying snaaaaaaaake, makes this a tricky decision indeed.
The problem with this remake is that everything in MGS3 is a comic book situation or character. Having realistic looking assets and characters isn't important to that and may even be detrimental. I think this is a crazy misstep and a cash in
I keep forgetting this is even coming to be hon 🤷♂️. MGS remake would be a different story
dumpster fire waiting to happen. this should put an end to konami's remakes once and for all.
@Funnydoode91 no. the real fans knew better and didn't want konami to touch this IP ever again. clearly, nobody in the world but kojima and his close collaborators know how to handle the IP so it would be best they left it alone. the only exception would be if kojima collaborated with a proven studio such as bluepoint for the remake, but that wasn't in the cards i suppose. konami deserves all the hate and more.
@Porco lol like i said everyone is entitled to their own opinions. If you feel that way then don’t buy Metal Gear Delta but hey idc what you do. your opinion means nothing to me
@Dragoon1994 Why would Konami give him the rights? He was their employee when he created it, it belongs to them.
It'd be the same as a mining company giving away the mine. How does that make any business sense?
@Porco And yet apparently Revengeance was pretty good?
@Sxio revengence is a good action game but it is a spinoff and shares nothing but a few reference the mgs ip. it is not canon. besides, kojima originally planned and acted as a consultant on revengence so its not like it was made in a vaccum in the way mgs3 remake is.
@Sxio
Spyro was originally Insomnaic games IP till Activision got it.
Crash was originally Naughty Dog IP till Activision got it.
Tomb raider is now owned by SE but Aspyr did the 1-3 remasters.
Without Kojima the MGS games aren’t gonna be the same.
I loved Rising but was done a completely different company.
I don’t want the remake of Snake Eater being ruined but without Kojima it’s not going to feel the same
