Konami seems to be very slowly pulling back the curtain on its PS5 remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, as after Solid Snake voice actor David Hayter teased the title for his YouTube legacy series, the game's main menu has been put online. Not so noteworthy in itself, but now Hayter has come out to say he's played the full game, and also added "it was spectacular".
Hayter said he was able to play the opening of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, up until the famous bridge cutscene where The Boss defects. In the tweet below, you can see the remake's main menu screen, which zooms in on the jungle.
Besides its original announcement trailer and some follow-up in-engine footage, very little has been revealed about the remake that Konami is cooking up alongside Virtuos. There's no release date attached, but more news will be shared as part of David Hayter's YouTube video series. Do you think it's out this year? Make a prediction in the comments below.

Hoping they Updated the controls.
Hayter ain't hatin'
Virtuos? Hard pass then, that studio has a terrible track record. Hopefully they’ve learned a lot, but it’s rough to hear this.
He's not gonna say it's bad though is he?
At the moment, I have zero hopes about this and the Silent Hill remake.
@BookhouseBoy He probably cashed that Konami check immediately after sending that tweet.
This will be cool... I will buy this.. but without my guy Hideo being involved, even if its good, its not though right
In Hayter we trust.
Best MGS hands down but would it give off the same epic feeling we had first time playing it... For example that epic fight with the ghillie guy in the forest is similar to the awesome TLOU2 unknown sniper mission with all the realism you can get. It might feel old in these times.
It's in my top 3 with Ocarina and Castlevania lll so I definitely hope that it'll be fantastic, but I can't say I expect it to be.
As far as a release date, whenever it is they should add a week to it so they can get modders to fix it in their free time before it's released rather than after.
The man who was paid by Konami to advertise the game is saying that it's good? No way!
Why does the headline to the article suggest he has played the full game, when it’s not clear from the article if he has played the whole game or only the opening?
@Americansamurai1 Do they need updated other than switching the gun controls to the triggers?
At this point, it would be very strange for the game NOT to release this year, with all the attention it's been getting lately
Hoping Konami does to MGS as Capcom has done to RE
@Steel76 MGS looks like a botch job. Silent Hill is being developed by Bloober, so it might turn out well.
Title of the article post says he’s played the full game, his actual tweet says he’s played up the bridge part.
Hoping Konami doesn’t ruin Snake Eater with this remake, without Kojima it probably won’t feel like the same game though
I'll wait for PS6 before I play this upgraded Classic
they are clearly using hayter to stirr up hype for this game... a game which more people should be excited for but are not for obvious reasons. i truly feel bad for hayter... he will always be solid snake/naked snake/big boss in my eyes (sutherland be damned), but he was thrown under the bus by kojima himself and never got the proper sendoff he deserved with mgs v.
now, he is obligated to hype up a crappy remake. i don't blame him as he still loves the franchise and the character, but the odds are really not in favour of anything coming out of the konami machine these days.
@Vacuumator @Dragoon1994 "Full game" in this context means the actual product being developed, not a playthrough from start to finish.
@LiamCroft That is very misleading.
@Americansamurai1 really?
@RatmCky yup
@Americansamurai1 cool
Don't hayte the player...

@DeathlySW They function mostly as a support studio on projects. If the game was bad, that falls on the primary studio for not utilizing them correctly along with their own internal team. This should be fine.
Though I'd rather Bluepoint to have been working on this.
