Amazon's upcoming TV take on Fallout continues to look incredible, and we appear to be on the precipice of a bold new world in which video game adaptations, like HBOs The Last of Us, don't have to be terrible. Over three minutes, the insanity and "vibe" of the bizarre post-apocalyptic setting are damn-near perfectly captured, and we can't help but get our hopes up for this one.
From the incredible costuming, fantastic casting, and production pedigree, we can't wait to see where the series goes. Amazon's adaptation will follow protagonist Lucy (Ella Purnell), a Vault Dweller who emerges from the safety of the only home she has ever known into the savage Wasteland of a devastated Los Angeles. Interestingly, showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet has said the Vault itself is an allegory for "peaceful utopias" like Canada or New Zealand, exploring how people outside of the Vault struggle and suffer in ways those inside couldn't even imagine.
What do you think of the Fallout TV adaption? Do you agree that Amazon appears to have nailed that specific Fallout feeling? Let us know in the comments section below.

Looks like it could be really good to me. I've never been a huge fan of the actual game series for whatever reason, but I'll definitely be checking this out. Who knows, maybe it will make me go back and give 3 or 4 another chance.
They had me at Walton Goggins.
Such a relief after seeing the Borderlands trailer. And releasing all episodes day one? How 2020!
I love Fallout so they better not mess this up!
It looks excellent.
Not bad at all. Early Westworld was fantastic and this seems to be at least on that side of things, rather than the late Westworld side of things.
Hope its good. Amazon is very much hit or miss. Rings of Power was a ouch and so was Wheels of Time
I wish there was fallout 1 and 2 remake and 3 and Vegas remaster
love the games even fallout 76
I will say that I had zero interest in this (as I do most VG adaptations) until I learned it's actually telling a new story in a new location? Now I'm actually interested. Will characters from other West Coast Fallout games cameo in it?
@trev666 Fallout 1 and 2 remakes in the style of Wasteland 3 will QOL improvements would be amazing.
Theoretically, if done right. They could make the series last for many years. There are plenty of factions & creatures that they can use lore wise to keep things fresh.
Then if things do start to become stale. They can release a spin-off that starts in a different vault & a new location.
I don't really watch TV so I doubt I'll get to it but the use of The Ink Spots song gave me goosebumps. So it's a good trailer at least.
Excellent song choice
A yao guai. Nice.
Here’s hoping the ‘Next Gen Update’ is announced soon to coincide with the TV show’s release..
And this (btw) looks like it’s going to be f#%$ing amazing btw.. I don’t wanna wait to binge this..
PLEASE RELEASE THE UPDATE ALONGSIDE THE SHOW!!!
I’ve only played and beat FO4 ONCE (230 hours) as soon as it came out.. this might be one of the rare games I replay just to experience zero-little loading screens.. the loading takes so much away from the immersion imo
Not sure I could listen to the main characters voice for an hour a week.
Like fingernails on a chalkboard.
@WolfyTn a few months ago there seemed to be a lot of talk that the PS5 upgrade would be timed to coincide with the series but there seems to have been radio silence lately. Still holding out hope that they shadow drop the update on 11th April or on the following weeks while Fallout is back in the conversation
Looks genuinely promising!
@Maaster89 that’s the dream at the moment
I’m not a fan of the Fallout games but this looks interesting. Unfortunately Amazon is making it so it could be terrible. Not to mention I’ll have to acquire it elsewhere though since they started showing ads even for Prime Members.
Looks great , shouldve worked with hbo though, amazon are not known for excellent television, no mention of bethesda , Todd Howard or the fact its based on a video game in the trailer though like tlou , bit weird.
This isn't representative of the Fallout experience at all. I watched the whole trailer and it didn't crash once!
Looks awful. Prove me wrong.
@MaddieTian
$2.99 for a month of ad free. Can’t wait until streaming games have commercials that I can pay extra to avoid.
@lacerz Or torrent stuff and get no ads. I pay for Prime and with the addition of ads they’ve decreased the value of the service.
