SEGA is really embracing its history these days, and it’s resulted in ongoing development of several nostalgic franchises, like Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi. But it’s also commissioning some cool merchandise collaborations, and you’ll probably want to add this Axel from Streets of Rage to your wishlist.
Described as the “ultimate solution to punk pollution”, the action figure is fully articulated and comes with a fireball you can attach to his fist for those most aggressive of upper-cuts. Jakks Pacific Toys is making this one, so you can be pretty confident in its quality; it’s also has Super Mario, Apex Legends, and Sonic the Hedgehog lines. Pre-orders will open exclusively at WalMart in the coming weeks.

Not probably, definitely!
I like the action figure, but the packaging is rough! As if someone at SEGA signed off using a cropped piece of original game keyart as the packaging? There's a punk's leg across the front and it looks poor...?!
SEGA still skipping those lessons in franchise management!

Yep. I'm a huge Streets of Rage fan, and was actually recently just wishing that someone would make good figures, but this ain't it. The sculpt looks pretty awful. If they did a full set then maybe I'd get them, but this Axel on his own looks very cheap, and not really like the character at all.
N.i.c.e. streets of rageis easily one of my favorite video games franchises ever.word up son
@nocdaes I think it was going for "period accurate" aesthetic which they nailed perfectly.
I do not understand why companies keep licensing their IP to Jakks. They're fine for super stylized characters, but anything slightly more detailed or "realistic" and they always, always, always look terrible (the joints, specifically). I'm not asking for all figures to be on the level of Good Smile or McFarlane, but this is sub-Hasbro.
