If you can't get enough games inspired by FromSoftware's influential Souls series, you're in luck, as another one is heading our way later this year. Enotria: The Last Song was initially planned to release this spring, but has now been pushed back to 21st August. It looks fairly promising in this new gameplay trailer.
Inspired by Italian folklore, the Unreal 5-powered Enotria casts you into a world blighted by the Canovaccio, an eternal stage play in which everyone has a role but you. As the Maskless One, your job is to defeat the evil forces behind this strange curse, and so begins another Souls-like quest.
As well as being lighter in tone, the game differentiates itself by way of masks which, when equipped, provide you with bonuses for playing in specific ways. On top of that are special mask line abilities to give you an edge in combat, as well as your usual varied weapon classes.
It looks pretty good to us, but what do you think? Will you check out Enotria: The Last Song in August? Tell us in the comments section below.

These guys cast some serious shade in Xbox’s direction yesterday… you just don’t see enough corporate shade of that quality these days 🤣
I'll be there day 1. I love games that play with setting (Steelrising, Vampyr, Banishers Ghosts of New Eden) and shift it away from high fantasy all the time.
I really like the look of this. Enough identity to hopefully be its own thing, similar to what Lies of P pulled off. Probably a rare day one for me, if the last minute previews are favourable.
@colonelkilgore I'll definitely check out the demo. I admire how brazen they were about it as well.
Looks awesome, just tempering expectations because souls likes need to have very solid gameplay and progression as well. I'm looking forward to it and nice to see an Italian perspective in this game.
I'll wait to see the final reviews, but will likely pick it up on my PS5. I had intended to buy it on the Xbox, but that ship has sailed now that it has been cancelled on that platform. Having said that, if the Developers really did take Microsoft money as part of the ID@Xbox program in order to fund making the game, only for them to then not put the game on the Xbox, that is a pretty unethical thing to have done...
@munkholt I had more fun with Lies of P than I thought I would have. From the trailer it looks like it's on the same quality level. I just hope it delivers too.
I think this looks pretty amazing and is a very creative take on the genre. Hopefully the gameplay lives up to the promise shown here.
What a dope trailer! Hopefully it's another banger in that formula.
This looks rad.
Looks like Lies of P to me which I still haven't played...but will try demo at least. I tried several souls-like games but usually when it's not by FS I lose interest very fast
They don't even have the resources to go fully multiplat so I doubt the game will come out that well.
