Sony and developer Shift Up have confirmed that a playable demo for Stellar Blade will launch later this week, on Friday the 29th March. Of course, we all knew this was coming — the demo was actually released several weeks early, by mistake, on the PS Store. Sony pulled it offline as quickly as it could, but not before a bunch of people played through it.
Indeed, the demo features the opening two hours or so of the upcoming action title, and yes, you'll be able to carry your progress through to the full game. Just to recap, the finished product is out in roughly one month, on the 26th April — and it's a PS5 console exclusive, published by Sony.

Will wait till I can play the full game on release
Wish that they would do this for more games. Going to give this game a try and if I like it going to preorder. Ff16 got me after that demo.
I'll give this a try. Not exactly something I'm hyped for but Stellar Blade is something I've been keeping my out eye on since the last State of play presentation
Releasing a demo is a good sign. It shows confidence in your product.
Ah great. The girlfriend is working this weekend, so I can play this without a judgmental look haha
@Smithylfc2008 " Im not looking at those rediculously skin tight trousers dear, honestly" 😂
Oooh nice. Will definitely be playing demo for this, won’t be buying day one as it’ll be something I’ll ask for since it’s my birthday end of June.
Have enough to play till then.
Just hoping Lost Soul Aside is gonna be out this year
LETS GOOOOOOO
Sweet, I'll give it a go.
Didn't expect it quite so soon, I suppose the leak might have moved their plans forward a tad.
Very excited. Love the flow of demos. FF16's saved me money so I'll be trying this for sure!
@Kidfunkadelic83 genuinely.!!! The looks I was getting during the beach part of FF7 Rebirth with Beachwear Tifa. This will be much worse if she saw it haha
Normally I'm not into demos and want to dive right into the real thing, but with Stellar Blade I'm dying to see if it has the same kind of feeling as NieR:automata.
Hoping this one will shape up better than rise of the Ronin did overall.
@Darude84
What kind of feeling is that (wink wink nudge nudge say not more)
@Smithylfc2008 i turned the screenshot notification off so i could just snap pics on Tifa without her seeing that i had taken a load of screenshots. Good job she doesnt use the PS5 otherwise she would just see jigglers in my album😂😂
Oh yeah, definitely will be playing the demo.
more demos please!
if there would have been no demo for FF16, I would not even bother thinking about buying this game. I did try Granblue Fantasy Relink recently and despite it´s completely out of my comfort zone, I really liked it and will probably buy later this year.
also feel that if there is a demo (for new IP at least), looks like developer/publisher really trusts in the product...good sign too for the gamers
Definitely be test driving this one. It looks great, and anything that’s taking inspiration from NieR has got to be worth a look… but, that’s also a hard thing to get right.
I’m definitely routing for them, but need to see it for myself before my wallet takes the hit.
Now it's gone, now it's back, and you will see Eve's backside.
@MikeOrator The feeling of pure awesomeness.
Putting out a demo shows good promise that this will be better than Rise of The Ronin turned out. If I like the demo I'll put a pre order in.
I’ll not bother. I’ll definitely play the game at some point, but not around release, so I’ll wait to play it all at once. Looking forward to getting around to it.
Damn right, something to get excited about at last.
@Smithylfc2008
Yes, my wife doesn’t mind a piece of female eye candy herself, but even she asked why all the female characters in Infinite Wealth stripped down to bikinis during fights.
Bring it on, I been waiting too long for this.
Yay, can't wait to play the demo!
I like big butts and i can not lie.oh wait wrong genre.yeah the video game eve booty is definitely bigger than the real life model.cool that demo is come.more booty madness😊😀😃😂.haha.word up son
When games have review embargoes that go up to the day of release, run.
When games release demos before release day, run.
Just run in opposite directions - away from the former and toward the latter.
How long will the full game be? I'm more interested in it only being 15 hours or so (or less), if it's 30+ I'm never going to get around to this.
Excited to play the demo. I’ll be wrapping up Rebirth this week for sure, starting Dragon’s Dogma 2, and will be hoping this could be what’s after that. We shall see. It’s fun to plan ahead. If this isn’t my cup of tea, I suppose I’ve got Banishers to start up and DD2 to drag out. No loss either way, but I hope, for Sony’s sake and our sake as the PS fans, this one is worth being an exclusive.
@Jaz007 From what Im hearing it is at least 20 to 30 hours of gameplay
Question for everyone r u playing with ur dominant hand for this one or no 🤔
Very nice I will try and see if is true what the detractors are saying that is all about fan service and nothing else! seeing as they are confident enough to put out a demo I think there will be much more to the game.
Very interested in the game and looking forward to the demo. Repulsed by what I've seen from the "community" around this game so far, but I guess I should have expected it.
I am honestly hyped we get a new Devil May Cry kind of game with a female lead, though my reasons may differ from other users’ 😅
Bring it on!
@Nei I'm just worried that some gameplay features like that gun the character gets will feel tacked on and the swordplay is where it feels most natural.
Yeah absolutely will try it. And this is how im decided if the game is deserved my money or not lol
It will be very interesting to see how this game plays out. When you cut through all the toon thirsting and that sad discourse. Is this game good, mid like Ronin, or in all actuality a dud hyped up by very low-level nonsense.
I definitely want to download this demo and give the play a try. I'm really hyped for it.
@Nepp67 yes I am still unconvinced about the gameplay, cannot really have a clear idea from the video they showed us, but that’s what demos are for!
@Smithylfc2008 I'm the girlfriend (actually wife) who's buying to look at hot women in pretty clothes in this case. LOL.
Women appreciate beauty too! We are not blind.
This has been one of my most anticipated games in years. I’ll probably give the game demo a download — maybe I’ll get to it this weekend if I manage to beat Rebirth. I’m two chapters away. And then Rise of the Ronin is calling my name, and I should beat that by the time Stellar Blade releases.
@BeerIsAwesome Huh???
Not sure whether I will give the demo a shot or not. I have it pre-ordered, but given that it's $70 it might not be a bad idea to try it first. I'll figure it out whenever the time comes, and I may or may not be done with Rebirth in time for the full release anyways.
Looking forward to giving the demo a go. I hope I like it because I've got 9 days booked off when the full game releases!
Demos are always appreciated.
I really want them to start releasing pack-in demos on disc again. I get that digital is cheaper and all, but mmm love me a good demo disc. Mmm Nostalgia.
Finally something playable from the EVE game
@Smithylfc2008 It's just a game dear! Kept telling this to my wife years ago when we married. Dragon age and mass effect on that time 😉
@koffing Great memories there! Getting home from school to see the new PlayStation Magazine in the mailbox was a great feeling. It was extra motivation to blitz through homework, chores, and violin practice so that I could dig in to the demo disc - the magazine I saved for the bus ride to school. Demo discs that came with games were awesome too - would anyone have purchased Zone of the Enders without the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo?
