Having been in development for over four years at Quebec-based studio Yellow Brick, Eternal Strands has just been officially revealed. This is an ambitious-sounding action adventure game, with an emphasis on giant enemies and environmental gameplay.
The press release sums things up rather nicely: "Fight epic, 25-meters-high climbable creatures known as the Arks, while blending magical abilities with an arsenal of powerful weapons to keep the world from crumbling. Use the environment and extreme weather events to your advantage in battles against a big roster of fantastical creatures. Immerse yourself in a vast and rich lore where you will build relationships with a diverse cast of characters."
Eternal Strands has been confirmed for PS5, but it won't be releasing until 2025. Still, we should be seeing a lot more of the game in the relatively near future โ and we wouldn't be at all surprised if it popped up during events like Summer Game Fest.
What do you make of Eternal Strands? Keep an eye on this one in the comments section below.

Looks like Immortals: Fenyx Rising meets Shadow of the Colossus.
I remember when this used to be called โGods and Monstersโ.๐
Sounds interesting. Hope itโs good!
I like it.
Shadow of the Colossus is still there at the top for me and hasn't even come close to being topped in terms of feel, physics, the sheer scope, immersion, etc.
It's crazy how a PS2 game has more fluid animations, horse riding, physics, etc. compared to anything that even comes to looking like it.
Climbing monsters in DD2 looks like a PS2 game ironically (although I'm loving DD2)
@rjejr
I think that one was Immortals: Fenyx Rising?
I just can't be bothered to think about a game not coming until 2025 lol
We aren't even half way through 2024 gang. I'll forget about this like tonight.
@Lup Yes, yes it was, hence the ๐ Just my sad little attempt at humour. ๐
Yes. More of this, please.
Theyโve been baking that brick since four years ๐ But it looks good though ๐๐
Looks promising, Shadow of the colossus beater very doubtful. Probably will be spoilt by some intricate control scheme, with pointless levelling up crap. SOTC is a masterpiece of game design, no *****.
@Specky My sentiments exactly!
@Frmknst
Yeah the colorful fantasy is really, really annoying.
Fenyx Rising was generic as hell. I blame Marvel. They all have wannabe Marvel dumb humour all the time as well. They can't help it.
The world is ending and they just have to saying something dumb and painfully unfunny while pointing at the camera with a smile.
I mentioned Shadow to say that nothing has even come close to topping a PS2 game. The "real" you mention is something that's completely lacking in games nowadays. Everything has to feel like Ubisoft fluff. Floaty, wooden, arcady. They all feel the same.
The last big game that did it right were TLOU2 and RDR2 of which people complain that it feels slow... Goddamn Ubisoft syndrome
