The Fallout TV adaptation continues to go from strength to strength as Amazon has revealed the series has received 65 million viewers, making it the second most-watched show in the streaming service's history. It's also the most popular series on the platform since The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power debuted in 2022.
Further details include the show proving popular amongst the 18-34 age demographic, where it's Amazon Prime's most popular series ever. 60 per cent of overall viewership came from outside the USA, with the UK, France, and Brazil all engaging with Fallout more than most. The firm has already confirmed a second season will be shot as Fallout fans return to the games in their droves having finished the TV show. They've proved so popular these past few weeks that Bethesda has recorded five million players in a single day across all its titles.
In our Fallout TV Show review, we concluded: "In accurately capturing the overall direction of the games, it forges a new path the series can take without a controller in your hands, all the while replicating its tone and bringing back those classic tunes you had hidden away on your iPod more than a decade ago. We don't want to set the world on fire, but if Fallout is the aftermath, then maybe the LA wasteland isn't so bad."
Have you been one of those 65 million viewers? Let us know in the comments below.

Bah I ain’t got time for watching TV! The PlayStation is on 😁
I've only watched 5 episodes so far as my (non gamer) Mrs wants to watch it with me and overall it's the most entertaining series I've watched for some time. They've done a great job of both bringing the games to life but also welcoming those who'd know nothing about it
Jonah Nolan can do no wrong.
Finished season one last night and I'm highly impressed by the way they handled the three/four main character arcs throughout, as well as the balance between flashbacks and 'present' day. Great so far and can't wait for more.
How do they arrive at this figure of 65 million viewers? How do they know how many people in a household are sitting there watching it?
Finished it yesterday with the wife and we both loved it. I remember back when Fallout 4 came out, she used to get mad about me playing that, wanting to use the TV for us to watch Supernatural, but now she was the one asking to watch the show.
Honestly, I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a show as much as this one since like Undone or Infinity Train… can’t remember which one i watched last between the two of them.
Let's hope Microsoft don't kill the Series by making Fallout 5 exclusive.
Its so good even my Mother in her 50's who has no interest in video games binged watched it in one day. Fantastic show and after that ending S2 can't come soon enough. TV seems to be where video game adaptions shine best.
@UltimateOtaku91 1 year exclusive on Xbox/PC and then a PS release i bet and that's fair.
@MatthewJP Its based on how many households and devices are watching it i think.
@DennisReynolds Yeah sounds fair, let's see what happens with Starfield first, if they bring that over after 12 months.
Absolutely loved the show. Burned through it in a few days. Very much looking forward to Season 2.
And this is why todd howard is a clown and a poor businessman. There should always be a new fallout and or elder scrolls in development.
I only watched the first episode, run times are a little longer than I expected so I won't be binging it, but definitely have to get to the rest of the season at some point. Thought the first ep. was a decent start.
I'm waiting for Amazon to offer me another free month of prime like they usually do so I can binge through this and the next season of Invincible. Cheapskates always win in the end!
@UltimateOtaku91 uh the series is already dead since 4 because fallout 4 sucks and so does this tv show, both made for normies so there is nothing for Microsoft to "kill".
You can't even fix fallout 4 with mods because you still got a trash goober main quest, corny immersion breaking voice acting meaning you can't play as your own character and the modding community is non existent, add to all this Bethesda broke all the mods.
Still don't get why Bethesda didn't move into a bigger office so they can develop a fallout & elder scrolls game at the same time.
@carlos82 Similar boat, only 4 episodes in and loving it. Really good balance between capturing the spirit of the games while doing their own thing. Music and humour are excellent too and you just can't help rooting for Lucy despite her hilarious naivety.
@YeoSprings It's a creative industry, it's never as simple as just hiring more people quickly to expand your business into multiple teams, you usually lose a lot in the process doing that.
If all it took was throwing money at the problem, poaching some of the best talent, then Google and Amazon with all the billions they threw at gaming would be making the 10/10 hits... yet they aren't. It takes a long time to build a creative studio wisely.
Aside: Though personally I think Bethesda NEEDS new blood to question and push the old heads into making more drastic changes.
Just trying to justify resubscribing to Prime - already have Netflix, Paramount+ (£35 for the year!) & Disney+ (wife paid for that - I wouldn't bother).
Might have to wait until the last "The Grand Tour" drops and binge appropriately.
@sanderson72 there's far too many subs these days, currently Amazon is the only one I have amd that's largely because I order a fair bit from there, this show was just a very welcome bonus
