Warhorse Studios has today announced Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a PS5 sequel to the 2018 original. Set to release later this year, you can check out the reveal trailer above. The studio says it is a "bigger, better, and more ambitious" title that the team has grown to more than 250 employees to create. The sequel is pitched as the "passion project" Warhorse Studios always wanted to make, and is now making a reality with the correct resources.
Once again using medieval Europe as the setting, the open world will use the city of Kuttenberg as its centerpiece. The play space is said to be "two times bigger" than the first game — one developer jokes the main city is almost "too big". On top of that, a longer story will be told across five hours of cutscenes. That's almost double the amount of cutscenes the PS4 original had. New weapons will include crossbows and early firearms. The setting is also described as dynamic, with your actions affecting how townsfolk treat you.
"Live life through the eyes and actions of Henry, a young man on a quest to avenge his murdered parents," a new press release reveals. "His story – illustrated with over five hours of stunning cinematics – takes him from aspiring warrior to rebel, crossing paths with a charismatic cast of characters and an unforgettable set of adventures, as he goes up against the King of Hungary, Sigismund the Red Fox and his fearsome allies."

I can't believe it's releasing this year. Over 6 years since the first. I'm sure it won't be for everyone like the first game but if it's an expanded version of what we got before then I am ecstatic.
It looks really polished. And if it’s more of what the first one had then I’m definitely keen. Can’t wait
My favorite game from PS4 is getting a sequel! This is as excited for a game as I think I've ever been.
Can't wait for this one. Was hoping for a 60 fps patch for the original with this announcement as well. Oh well, will have to just play the original again as is.
Ended up getting the original with all the bells and whistles very impressed with it.

Can't effin wait.
"I'm feeling quite hungry"
Seriously though, I cannot wait. Kcd is a fantastic game and if you haven't played it, you should. Take my money warhorse
@Golem25 Nobody had a HUD back then, you're immediately wrong.

More lock picking head *****!
Great game , im glad they took their time with it.
I enjoyed the first game, but that lockpicking no matter simplified or not, it did my head in, Lol..They better come up with better lockpicking.
I’ve always meant to play the first one, but never did. This may change that.
Ohhh shiiiiii* let's go 😁
Jesus Christ Be Praised.
I legitimately can't describe how hyped I am in words hahaha. So happy for the studio and everyone involved tbh. Every game show of the last 2 years, I think, i've joked that a live action Henry was due to invade the stage on horseback, and now they have given us that moment (watch the video on Warhorse Youtube, not this PlayStation one), and instead of announcing when it's two years away, they announce it when it's out within the year 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
And all let out a collective sigh of relief that Embracer didn't f*** it all up if we are being honest with ourselves. Every new embracer article there was always this slight worry 😅 phew
I hope Bernard returns for some combat training. He turned my Henry into a medieval ninja.

KCD is a mediocre Skyrim clone. I respect what they tried to do with the realism but the gameplay was supbar. I suspect this will be more of the same
I have the first but never got around to starting it.
This looks epic though.
Any idea if you need to play the first one to get the most out of this one?
@VaultGuy415 Let me guess, your favourite fallout game is either 3 or 4?

Let's goooo!!!!! Loved the first one
This screams 30fps on consoles.
Hmmm… never played the first one, but this looks very interesting. I’m not sure if this one will be for me or not, but I’m curious at least. Given the current release schedule, I may be more exploratory in my gaming purchases this year than I typically am.
Wow, this is maybe my most anticipated game ever😍😍😍😍
And choosing to built faithfully on what made the original great and polish on that is just an amazing decision.
I can't wait to get to buy it. Definitely preorder or day 1 purchase. I would be a sucker for gear as reward for early opt-in.
Thanks to Warhorse🎉🎉
@Shepherd_Tallon I believe so. This is a sequel to the first game continuing the story from where the first one ended.
Oh yes I loved the first one so I'm gonna have to czech this one out too!
@Shepherd_Tallon to get the most, certainly, but on the full Warhorse presentation video (check it out, seriously everyone) it is mentioned they designed it in a way for new players to be able to start from here.
It will be a new setting in the most part, but it will cutscene as a way to onboard new players about why certain characters are the bad ones etc. And I imagine it will do a classic "you got f***ed over, some time has passed and now you need to retrain and start from scratch" for the gameplay elements.
Honeslty though, it will be a game for people that love the first game first and foremost, as it is a game the developer wanted to make, and the crossover between their vision and players enjoyment is only going to increase the more you like what they were trying to do with the first one.
Also, the first one is one of the most charming games ever made, so just play it and hopefully you will fall in love with that anyway. I'm sure you can handle its quirks, as it really is one of those "if it clicks, you will absolutely love it" titles.
@Ravix I should probably just find some time to play the first game I guess 🤔
I like historical accuracy and I commend the devs for the approach taken. Nice to see such a success story come out of a crowdfunded effort.
N.i.c.e. the graphics of kingdom come deliverance looks amazing on the ps4 pro.and the sequel kingdom come deliverance 2 looks excellent on the ps5.word up son
I really enjoyed the world of the first game but detested the combat. I hope the second game really polishes that up.
I don't know. But i have been wondering about giving the first one a try given it's like 5 euros.
But i'm not sure it's for me. I find overly hard games to be a waste of my time and that is the impression i got from early reviews of the game.
@VaultGuy415 Skyrim is a fantasy RPG. This is a medieval sim. So different in so many ways. It’s weird to compare them.
@species Fallout 1. 4 gets a bad rap tho
Here’s hoping for better performance than the og. There was a great game there! Peach!

You were right and comment has cause, but it was shut down anyway.
the first one is desperate for a ps5 patch/update/version ,hopefully the sequel will give them a reason so as to encourage more players looking to find the first while waiting for the second
@Ravix wow the official Warhorse announcement trailer has over 1Million views in not even 24 hours. That's something, any AAA game dev would be happy with that. This game is quite something, can't wait to play!
@Nem it's not hard unless you ignore training If you train Henry's skills it is fine 😄
@Tatarimokke I know, right. I think the people who want this game are READY for it 😁 the community is one of the best and still very active on reddit too
@DonkeyFantasy
It should feel more like any other paper mache Ubisoft game, huh?
The game is grounded and feels like it should. It's different and thank god for that.
@Ravix I didn't know about that, I'll check it out. I played the game when it was released back then, loved it, just wondering if there is any PS5 update released in terms of visuals, framerate since? I'd play it again
@DonkeyFantasy
Alright, don't take it personally, but I'm tired of people complaining that grounded games feel weird.
They're supposed to. People complained about RDR2 as well. It's absolutely stellar how good it plays when it's slow and immersive.
Same for KC.
This is exactly why every game feels the same nowadays and nothing has it's own "personality" like games used to.
And it only takes a couple of hours at max to adjust to and it'll feel natural
Finaly something that is worth my time. I guess this is a good time to refresh the KCD1.
I love the familiar faces. We already call the first one “Henry game” around the house due to clunky title, glad “Henry game 2” will make perfect sense
