EA has announced its EA Play subscription service will be updated on Thursday with the addition of the high-quality golf game EA Sports PGA Tour. Current members will be available to download and kickstart their golfing career as the title is added to The Play List, which already features many other games published by EA. You can check out our All EA Play Games on PS5, PS4 guide through the link.
Released for PS5 in April 2023, we awarded an 8/10 rating in our EA Sports PGA Tour PS5 review, sharing praise for its vast amount of single player and online content, range of courses, and impressive visuals. "EA Sports PGA Tour proves what the publisher is capable of at its pomp: this is a jaw-droppingly beautiful sports game, with a sublime selection of licensed courses and a surprising amount of depth. Its demanding swing mechanic is slightly let down by a sluggish frame rate, but its single player is boosted by a strong sense of progression – and in multiplayer there’s tons to do."
While the game was only playable at 30 frames-per-second at launch, it has since been updated with 60fps support. Are you going to try EA Sports PGA Tour via the subscription service this week? Let us know in the comments below.

I used to enjoy the post tournament challenges in more sim settings, as I prefer the more realistic aspects, rather than the arcade 28 under on "pro mode" online type stuff 🙄😆 Not sure if they will keep going with them this year, but they have added the Major Courses for the year in an update, with Royal Troon, Pinehurst No.2 and Valhalla, which is nice. And more changes than some yearly sports games get, and this is not even a yearly release lol.
It's a great golf game but it's hardly pushing the ps5 at all. The graphics are nice but not amazing. It's really nothing the ps4 could not do and even though I really enjoy it I feel it was a very safe and lazy game. I feel it could have been so much better.
Just makes me miss Everybody's Golf even more...
I recently started playing this again a little since the season started. It is a great game. Definitely captures the atmosphere of golf very well. I do think I prefer the mechanics of 2K better but EA's plays well too.
Perfect timing with The Masters right around the corner!
Ah, so that explains the recent drop to £13 on the PSN store.
I did try this briefly after being way out of the loop since the 04-06 "trilogy", where I felt the series really peaked, but it demanded I create an EA account to play the majority of the modes (even the single player/"offline" ones), which put me right off
It’s a really fun golf game. Obviously not everyone’s cup of tea, but I enjoy a round or two here and there.
Even with AI difficulty set to 1 they still go -7 , it's ridiculously hard on the lowest level, not a beginner friendly game at all, I'm grinding and grinding and only now getting a par on each hole, I like to dominate games in their easiest setting while getting used to them, this game doesn't do easy
Best golf game ever made imo. I even got the platinum and this is coming from someone that doesnt like sports games. Hopefully they will do a 2025 game as it doesnt look like a new one will come out this year.
