Microsoft has today released the third of four Xbox games currently announced for PS5, PS4 boxes: the online survival title Grounded. You can grab a digital copy now from the PS Store for £32.99 / $39.99, granting you access to the final Fully Yoked Edition, which Obsidian Entertainment says is the last content update the game will receive. See it in action in the trailer above.
On top of the standard 1.0 version and all the updates the title received whilst on Xbox and PC, the Fully Yoked update implements gigantic ant queens, a New Game+ mode, new gear and creatures, and more. Playing the game over again in New Game+ increases the complexity and challenge by spawning creatures in different locations to what you're used to, offering new rewards, increasing the difficulty of boss fights, and introducing new secrets.
Will you give Grounded a go on PS5, PS4? Grow big in the comments below.

A friend of mine got me into Grounded last fall and I dropped about 65 hours into it on Steam. Great game, especially with friends. We're both pretty excited for the new update.
I picked it up, had a nice 20% preorder discount (I pre-ordered yesterday). Watching videos of it made it look exactly like the kind of game I can get lost in. Looking forward to getting started at the weekend.
I know this is a coop focused game but can you have fun in single player?
@Danloaded Yes, it's actually the default mode. Offline single player.
@Pranwell game's being updated with plenty of content, this is the definitive edition, released today on all platforms
@Frmknst Rent it on Xbox or buy and actually own it on PS5 you mean 😉
@DennisReynolds @Frmknst Or just...buy it on Xbox...because believe it or not, you can still own games on the console if you choose.
@GamingFan4Lyf It's amazing how many people seem to think that owning an Xbox is just renting games on Game Pass.
I use it to try games and the ones that I like, I buy. With 20% Game Pass discount of course. 🙂
@__jamiie I mean, it's a nice value if you are into the available games...but yeah, it's a shame that is the narrative surrounding the console.
@GamingFan4Lyf It’s a really dumb narrative people push to make PS sound superior when it actually has less choice.
@DennisReynolds exactly 👌🏻

@Frmknst
What would I buy an xbox for lol
@__jamiie
That's what demos are for, which are free.

@Specky Because you can play the whole with a demo can't you?
What if the demo doesn't really tell you everything you want to know about the game? My Game Pass Ultimate subscription and my Nintendo Switch Online subscription both offer great value.
My PS+ subscription (which expired in February) offered no value.
On a separate note, Grounded is a very fun game and everyone should give it a go.
@Frmknst I don't think you understand what 'free' means!
Current and cheapest Console XBox Game Pass £6.99 per month!
Regardless always thought this looked great but too many games in backlog so will pick up in a sale.
Does anyone know if it's worth doing in single player or better with others?
looks fun I wish it had couch co op though
Xbox trolls just can't help themselves 🙄
If you are a fan of Honey I Shrunk the Kids, I absolutely recommend buying Grounded. I’m not a fan of survival games, but I ended up absolutely loving Grounded. I love the world, the characters, the story, the creatures, the exploration, and the secrets. It’s easily one of my favorite Xbox games.
It’s fun playing solo and it’s great playing with friends. This game deserves to be a huge success. I know Sea of thieves gets all the glory, but I’m a bigger fan of grounded.
Obsidian is a great dev and this is the only game I'm interested in from the first wave but I was watching the trophies and the main tile is messed up, they just copied the PS4 rectangular one and pasted it in the square of the PS5 one. Those details man ... come on MS.
I haven’t played this game in a long time - I really loved the concept and the game world was simply beautiful, but progression seemed incredibly slow and difficult.
Weapons didn’t do enough damage to certain enemies that were kind of required to get the next Tier of weapons and armor only did so much to keep you alive.
I basically stopped because I hit a brick wall. Solo was seemingly impossible because the only things I could kill were basic ants, mites, and ladybugs.
I'm thinking to get it to play with my buddy that's on Xbox
One of my favourite survival experiences! 150hrs to finish and still didn't find absolutely everything. Perfect progression and difficulty curve - highly recommended.

Push Square, can you please review it? Would love your thoughts on this game on PS5.
@K1LLEGAL Really there are not that much games on Xbox i would make buy a console. The value nonsense something i dont care about so what are the games you bought the console for?
@UltimateOtaku91 correcting a troll, makes you a troll. Got ya 😂😂

@Flaming_Kaiser what? We are talking about the fact people say oh “rent on xbox or buy on ps” when you can still buy on Xbox too. Hence the choice. Im not talking about the games themselves.
But Xbox does have incredible games. The industry just ***** on them until they come to Playstation
And crazy to think it only launched on Xbox less than 7 months ago.
Well, the 1.0 version did anyway. Unless Xbox fans now want to argue the OPPOSITE of what they claimed last year that Grounded counted as a brand new game release in 2023? No? Okay then.
@__jamiie Weird, so more people are subscribed, to what you claim is , a useless subscription service. Get out here lol.
It's looks alright. Personally I'm more interested in Obsidian when they used to make brilliant and critically acclaimed, games industry important, games (before being bought by Phil and Xbox OBVIOUSLY).
@andrewsqual Useless to me. It offered no value to me.
@__jamiie Im very happy for you. But some people see it the other way, including me.
Series X not switched on since last September when I was still subbed to GP. Meanwhile I can't play all the games we have on PS fast enough, I have a huge backlog, and large number of them will never be on GP.... and I enjoy PS+ too. [shrugs]
I'm delighted this game is on PS5 now. I don't care for it personally (just don't like any survival mechanics), but the developers deserve to see their good work played by as many as possible.
I AM looking forward to this dev's 'Avowed' though, the only game xbox have coming that interests me to play, and I'll resub to GP to try it..
Fortunately we are all different and get to choose what we like and where we play it. No one is wrong, we are just all different.
@Titntin Exactly. Plenty of my friends have PS+ Premium and love it. I could never see myself going back to it though. I tend to buy games for my PS4/PS5 way before they arrive on PS+.
@K1LLEGAL Give me examples how hard is it? And you know its true most people dont buy on Xbox but use the Gamepass. If you want your proof if you look here on this i will wait when its on Gamepass isnt something special to hear.
@Flaming_Kaiser well it’s not hard it’s just not what I was talking about. You randomly changed the subject? For the record, I agree and dislike when I hear the “wait for it to hit Gamepass” thing. But look at Fallout - it’s all on Gamepass and it’s currently topping the charts on Xbox. I have around 750 digitally owned games on Xbox.
Anyway the incredible Xbox games I was referring to are going to be the ones you have heard before. You want me to basically list all the exclusives, whats the point just use google. The Gears of War series is one of my favourite of all time. The variety on Xbox completely outclasses Playstation in my opinion.
@andrewsqual you might wanna re-check that. Grounded full release was 2022. Same year as Pentiment. The quiet Xbox year.
