Bandai Namco has spiled the beans on what's next for Tekken 8. Throughout the rest of 2024, players can expect a bunch of free updates, and Lidia has been confirmed as the game's second DLC character. She arrives at some point this summer.
Lidia debuted in Tekken 7 as one of its final DLC fighters. She was quite well liked, featuring an aggressive playstyle and some cool stance-based stuff. She should fit right in.
As for the updates, a big balance patch is out this spring — so that'll be here soon — and in the summer, a new stage called Seaside Resort is dropping, alongside a dedicated photo mode. The latter could be a fantastic addition, given how good the game can look.
Then, in the autumn, a new story chapter's being added, which seems to feature Eddy. 'Online Practice' and 'Ghost vs Ghost' modes have also been mentioned.
There's a lot to look forward to then, but are you hyped for more Tekken 8? Don't drop your combo in the comments section below.

Slightly disappointed at this choice but oh well
my girl is back
She was already leaked a long while ago but its still nice to see her back, one of the better newcomers imo.
Nothing is free in Tekken
Lei Wulong, please 🙏🏼
hesitating to jump in.
want to, but don't have time for.
MK 1 eats the time I have.
Bringing back Tekken Bowl or Tag Team Tournament modes would be a touch.
Awesome game that handles DLC putridly, just like SF 6. It is cool to see Lidia back, though.
Phototmode... Bring on the upskirt shots!
Nice, a photo mode.
@MrBook It's not the modern gaming industry, it's always been like this. Fighting games and other arcade games are the original microtransactions. Imagine if Tekken 8 was free to download but you couldn't play it until you paid £1. Then when you lose, another £1. Oh you beat arcade mode without losing? Nice. Now put in another £1 to play again.
Your friend wants to play with you? That'll be £1. Inevitably one of you will lose within the next few minutes. Want to carry on? For just £1 you can! Honestly, if you spent a weekend playing like that, you'd have spent way more than Tekken 8, its season passes and battle passes will cost.
@MrBook Ah yes, the good old pre-DLC days when you had to buy the entire game again for new content! I mowed many a lawn to afford Street Fighter II, Champion Edition, Turbo, and finally Super over the span of three years. Don’t get me wrong, I loved all of those games, it’s just that with the modern approach to DLC characters and free balance patches, I don’t have to mow as many lawns.
