WB Games has just unveiled its CG launch trailer for MultiVersus, the free-to-play platform fighter from Player First Games. The game is due to make its grand return on 28th May on PS5 and PS4, and when it does, it's bringing with it several brand new playable characters.
As the trailer reveals, Agent Smith from The Matrix and Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th will both be joining the roster, alongside fellow newbies Joker (Batman) and Banana Guard (Adventure Time). It's not made clear how these new characters will play, but presumably proper gameplay trailers for these fresh fighters are just around the corner.

To bad Sony won't make a PlayStation all stars 2, they have so many characters they could used from first party alone. With them owning evo now it would promote it.
@Americansamurai1 I have seriously wanted them to do a PS All Stars redemption arc for so long! They have all the material they need for the game to be good, and you're absolutely right about evo. I would just wonder who should develop it, as admittedly as much as I still find the original kind of charming, I can't pretend that I think it's a particularly good game. Perhaps they could outsource its development?
@BHPM maybe outsource it to namco bandia, or arc systems.
@Americansamurai1 Or maybe Square and make it like Dissidia
Jason Voorhees is an awesome addition! Can’t wait!
@Keyblade-Dan true or Capcom in the style of marvel vs Capcom. A lot of possibilities, would be a smart live service game.
Damn the leaked images where right thats not Jason Voorhees thats Jason Swolhees
Powerpuff Girls when?
Bro they made Jason look so stupidly large.
He's not The Hulk or Solomon Grundy lol
Love the Agent Smith pick! Here's hoping we get Mr. Anderson at some point too. Looking forward to playing this again!
I'm excited for Agent Smith, love the Matrix.
@Americansamurai1
That's a hopeless dream though, lmao. I doubt you can fill a game with JUST Aloy, Kratos, Ellie and Ratchet. Sony doesn't have any other iconic franchises (anymore).
The addition of Smith is cool but kinda odd to have him in before Neo, especially after all the rumors around the latter, unless I missed something that said otherwise.
Still, Smith is a great Matrix character and I'm sure Neo will come sooner or later, so its all good.
@Americansamurai1 Sony doesn’t own the IP for a fighter, especially a platform fighter like this one. BUT they will if they the rumored acquisition of Paramount goes through.
jason in this game is built like a boulder and i love it
@Maubari Ghost , Little Big Planet, Jak & Daxter, Sly, Astro Bot, inFAMOUS, Parappa, Twisted Metal, Resistance, Gravity Rush, Legend Of Dragoon, Medievil, Siren, Uncharted, Knack, Bloodborne, Demon's Souls etc Playstation has plenty of Diverse franchises to pull from for a roster and that's not even factoring in potential third party inclusions
@Keyblade-Dan See, you say that... But would Sony REALLY pull all these franchises out of their coffins again? I would love to see Kat from gravity Rush returning, or Nathan Drake, but the sad fact is that Sony doesn't care about these franchises anymore. At all.
Though I suppose Nintendo and Rare are just as guilty with including Banjo in Smash but then not following it up with a sequel game..
I'll give this a try on release, the beta was fun enough and the time in the oven since should help. The newly added characters are appealing and this is as close to a Smash Bros we're going te get.
