Stellar Blade is the big winner of the latest US sales report from analytical company Circana (as outlined by the ever-informative Mat Piscatella). The current PS5 exclusive topped the charts for April, having released on the 26th of the month. Admittedly, it was a pretty quiet period for new releases, but it's still an impressive console debut from South Korean developer Shift Up.
Moving down the list, Helldivers 2 is still hanging in at number 2, and we're starting to wonder just how long it'll hold a top 10 spot. Honestly, at this point, we wouldn't be surprised if it stays there for the rest of the year — which is crazy.
Fallout 4 also got a huge boost thanks to its current-gen upgrade and the Amazon TV show — all the way from 87th to 5th — while the rest of the multiplatform chart is fairly straightforward. March's heavy hitters, Dragon's Dogma 2 and Rise of the Ronin, remain highly placed in 7th and 11th respectively.
Elsewhere, the PS5 continues its dominance of the console sector, winning out both in unit and dollar sales.

Two exclusives at the top which is nice to see, especially HellDivers 2 staying strong for 3 months now. I predict 20 million sales by the end of the year.
Democracy always wins
Great to see Stellar Blade is such a success! It deserves it. Game is a blast to play.
Great results for Stellar Blade. So well deserved!
Liberty prevails for another month

Congrats to the Devs behind Stellar Blade and Helldivers II. They definitely deserve any success that goes their way. Also, congratulations to Rise of the Ronin, definitely one of the underdog games this year. Making it to the top 20 is still a pretty good achievement.
Great seeing Stellar Blade do so well.
Just gonna say it now but Stellar Blade is FAR AND AWAY, my personal GOTY thus far. And I don't see anything on the horizon, as far as my tastes go, that could dethrone it. Helldivers 2 is a solid second.
Both Steller Blade and Hogwarts Legacy in charts. Two great games and two failed boycotts.
Good to see Dragon's Dogma 2 and Rise of the Ronin in the top 20. I might have to give Stellar Blade a go judging by the feedback its getting, maybe after finishing RotR.
@Ashina This. Rise of the Ronin has quietly been selling very well!
@DETfaninATL Only Zenless Zone Zero could topple Stellar Blade for me. Maybe the new Astro Bot too.
Hoping Stellar Blade can at least stay near the top in the next few months(10 top at least).
Stellar Blade GOTY!!
Way to go Shift Up. It's my AAA GOTY so far, not that I've played a huge amount if I'm being honest.
Princess Peach and MK8 don't include digital and they're still in this chart. Think about that for a moment....wow.
Kind of funny, Japans chart was: Sex, Nintendo, Nintendo, Nintendo, Nintendo Nintendo.
US's chart is: Sex, Sony, Xbox, Xbox, Xbox, Sony, Multplat, Xbox
Where's EU chart? I'm guessing Sex, Sony, Sony, Sony, Sony.
Green team guys keep saying exclusives doesn’t matter and keep getting proven wrong. I hope Sony sign a Multi game deal with shift up after the success of stellar blade.
@DETfaninATL Yeah honestly it's between Dragon's Dogma 2 and Stellar Blade for me. Both have weak stories sadly but the gameplay is so good that you can basically ignore them. Until another game comes up I'm sticking with these two
Really happy seeing Stellar Blade at the top, the game is genuinely really fun.
So I guess peeking at Amazon a couple times a day to see if the price has dropped on Stellar Blade is going to be fruitless for a little while. Great news, really.
Probably will be gone from the list entirely next month but hopefully the April result is good enough that it means Stellar Blade can be considered a success overall.
@IntrepidWombat yeah I’m waiting for a price drop too. If your from UK there’s also Hit, the game collection. they sometimes have good price drops
@Icey664 Absolutely
