The physical 'Deluxe Edition' of Baldur's Gate 3 was scheduled to ship this month, but it's been hit with an unfortunate delay. As outlined by developer Larian on social media, the delay will specifically impact PS5 and Xbox buyers in North America, and it's down to "production issues" which are apparently out of the studio's control.
At the time of writing, we don't know significant this delay will be. "We are working to get them all to you as soon as we can and are very sorry about this extra delay," Larian writes.
Meanwhile, those who have ordered the Deluxe Edition in Europe and Oceania will be happy to know that shipping starts this week. "We will have an update with the shipping dates next week! Keep an eye on your email as well for any shipping updates," notes the developer.
It's been a long time coming, but are you snapping up the Baldur's Gate 3 Deluxe Edition? Try not to sprout any tentacles in the comments section below.

Got my email a little while ago about the delay but mine should be shipping this week! The excitement begins.
Saw this come through this morning, been waiting months, what's another few weeks?
Too bad, but I can wait. Been waiting this long. I can a bit longer.

Is the Deluxe Edition the only way to get the game physical? Or am I missing something obvious. I don’t care enough to buy all the extra goodies (plus I think it’s sold out anyway) but would sure pick it up if available.
No biggie not like I’m opening it anyways.
I’m in the middle of like four games right now! For the love of god, take all the time you need, Larian!!
It’d be great if they brought it at least to online retail eventually. I don’t care to get the deluxe edition for a franchise I’ve never played. Plus the shipping is $20 so I’m paying $100. Just give me a normal physical release 😭😭😭
Larian Studios: “We want to handle the physical release ourselves so it goes smoothly!”

Sigh. I just want to walk into a Walmart or Target store and buy the freaking game on disc. This isn’t hard.
Awesome! Finally!
Now let's see Paul Alan Wake 2's copy
Idk why people are complaining about no standard release when a physical release was literally never planned. I know people not in EU are upset that with the shipping it's totaling $100, but when you think about the fact that the game is already $70, it's really not that crazy. If you're really that chuffed about it, import from Japan or something. I've seen it on Play Asia for like $55 or so.
Yes, @milonorth. The Deluxe edition is the only way to get BG3 now.
If PlayStation gamers think they have it bad, I ordered my Deluxe edition the very day they became available to pre-order. However, I ordered an Xbox version, and that is delayed still further than the PlayStation version (apparently due to now requiring the game to be on 3 discs).
Fortunately, I've played through the game on the PC when it first came out, but still, it's been a hell of a long wait for my console version of the game to arrive...
@Specky I reckon a physical Alan Wake II would help Remedy break even. They need to make it happen.
