EA Sports’ long-awaited return to the college football scene will finally be fulfilled on 19th July, when the imaginatively named EA Sports College Football 25 launches on PS5. There’ll be two versions available: the bog-standard edition for $69.99, or the Deluxe Edition for $99.99. The latter comes with all kinds of bells-and-whistles, including three days of early access from 15th July, the Heisman Hopeful Ultimate Team Pack, and 4,200 College Football Points.
Pre-orders for either edition also come with three choice packs: the Alma Mater Ultimate Team Pack, the Cover Athlete Ultimate Team Pack, and the Bring Glory Home Ultimate Team Uniform Item.
The press release reveals: “In EA Sports College Football 25 experience explosive gameplay variety across 134 FBS schools and immerse yourself in the iconic atmospheres of college football as you chase college greatness.”
Judging by the pre-order items, it seems like Ultimate Team will play a big part in the package, which perhaps isn’t all that surprising from EA Sports these days. With the release date a little over two months away, we should be seeing a lot more gameplay in the coming weeks.

Can’t wait. Been waiting on this game for over ten years.
Should be interesting with all the changes to the NCAA and college football. It's been almost 10 years since the last one. Hopefully it's a good game for people that want to play it. But then again it's EA and I assume they have exclusive rights like they have with Madden?
Lets go finallyyyyyyy
Ultimate Team in college football’s sorta a weird concept. Guess it was inevitable.
So it's Madden with a college football Skin over the top?
I'll give this a go because...I grew up with 16 bit American Football games but always liked Mutant League Football the best (being a White Dwarf/Warhammer kid). After moving to NYC I still couldn't really get into the NFL but then I had a stint in Tallahassee. Wow, college football is BIG. With multiple stadiums seating over 100,000 and entire towns' economies reliant on just 7 home games per season, the atmosphere is infectious. You could argue the games are more entertaining than pro football too as they take more risks and make more mistakes at college level. I'm glad the players will finally be compensated as they are risking a lot considering the billions TV networks make airing college sports.
Ultimate Team in NCAA. There goes all my enthusiasm I had for this. Shame.
It's great that the athletes are actually getting something, $600 and a copy of the game is a lot better than nothing. Would be cool if the colleges would match that, but they're probably too busy selling all of their students info (all of it) to anyone with $10,000 to spare lol.
Already has "collage football points" which means an in game currency which is a no from me. I'll wait for this to go free in 10-12 months.
@Bez87 not yet. It's in development by a different team but yeah it could end as just a skin we'll see. Hopefully is good. The monetization plan comes from EA so at least for now it isn't an indicator of how the game plays.
@GKT probably they pay more depending of the player. I don't see why Travis Hunter or Denovan Edwards would accept only $600. They are first/second rounders.
Gameplay wise is this basically just Madden but with different players?
Wish I could get an old-school EA football game without all the Ultimate Team garbage. I don't want a gacha game, I want football.
I heard this game is going to be so realistic and authentic — If you play as the University of Michigan you get an automatic cheat where you can see what play your opponent is going to run.
Madden Jr. Hard Pass
FINAAAAAALLY AFTER SO MANY YEARS
@GeeEssEff Madden sucks compared to the NCAA games to me
@danzoEX Yeh I’ve heard good things about NCAA but what is the difference from a gameplay perspective? Questions coming from a naive British person who has never played a college football game and only dabbled in Madden.
@GymratAmarillo thats what's baffling about the hype around this game.
Madden has been stale for awhile according to the reviews every year so why would a football game made by EA be anything different apart from the rosters and teams.
According to EA website EA Orlando made Madden 23 and pga golf game.
Is there any hope its a fresh take. Haha
