Square Enix has revealed the bugs stopping Final Fantasy XVI players from starting New Game+ and unlocking specific Trophies will be fixed in a PS5 patch slated to arrive at the end of next week. When beginning a second playthrough and deciding to skip the prologue, some users are not seeing essential party members spawn, making it impossible to push the main quest forward. The publisher came up with a workaround, but the PS5 update landing on 9th May 2024 should fix it for good.
In addition, the patch will look to remedy some issues affecting Trophies in the base game. "Yes, Eikon", "Masterclass", and "Such Dodge, So Mega" should all be fixed once the update is applied. Finally, a "rare instance" where the PS5 title crashes has been fixed. "We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued support," the firm said.

I still love this game. Haven’t experienced any issues like this but welcome the patch. Hope they release a complete edition for PS5, PC and Xbox. Torgal is my buddy!
@HonestHick I think the previous patch made petting Torgal easier, haven't had the time to test it out myself.
@Aladin_Run Even better!!! The game is really enjoyable to me outside of some of the long boss fights. But it makes it feel epic. I hope when Sony comes out with the PS5 Pro, which i will get. I hope FF16 get’s some Pro love. Some day when that game runs 60 fps i am re playing it all.
"PS5 patch", "PS5 update". Isn't still exclusive? A little redundant.
The only trophy I'm missing is the kairos gate. Got most the stages s ranked just to die to Barnabas on the very last round 👌🏻Ranked 400 odd on the leaderboard though, that was nice.
