I never got around to playing Alan Wake 2 because I was lost in Baldurs Gate for months, time to pick it up I think.

I heard good and bad things about Metro Exodus, but never played a Metro game. A story-heavy FPS in narrow corridors in an unusual scenario seems to be my cup of tea.

Is this game with its latest patches and with Russian voice-overs a good or a very good experience?

I like to buy Returnal from this sale, which is currently part of my PS Plus sub which lapses in a few weeks. Does anyone know if there is a possibility to buy it anyway? Currently it says “bought” (translated from Dutch) when I click on the item.

@Galv I looked up the game on the app first and then I booted up the console to pay for it. The price updated for me at 10am.

Is there a particular game from the article that isn't showing the sale price for you, or did you just want to view the full sale?

@Darude84 As far as I can tell, once you redeem and “add to library” from the PS+ Extra catalog, you no longer have the option to purchase the game outright, since it’s already in your library. Once your sub lapses then the purchase option should open up again. Sucks for times like this though where you want to take advantage of a sale.

For future reference, you can still purchase a game that’s on the service as long as you don’t add it to your library yet. It’s kind of a messy system, but I can see why the do it this way so that people don’t accidentally buy games that they already have access to for free with their subscription.

Edit: Returnal is a fantastic game, by the way. Well worth the full price I paid for it at launch. I suspect it will be on sale again soon enough, so if you have a little patience then you can still save a few euros.

Almost all of it will be under the May savings banner. I did notice that Alan Wake 2 said "save 20% with Playstation Plus" when I bought it. Do you have an active subscription, if not that might be why some of them aren't available for you. I can't check if Returnal's discount falls under that requirement as I already own it.

This is definitely a PS Plus exclusive add on to the current May Savings sale

But don't despair, Days of Play will roll around soon enough and those sales will be a lot bigger and way more inclusive

@Th3solution Thanks for explaining. It sucks, but i’ll wait around. And it probably will be cheaper physically anyway if I buy it at the right time.

The PS Store still seems so messy and illogical. They could have just added a “Are you sure you want to buy it again?” warning instead of completely ruling it out.

@Max_the_German same, I never played a Metro and I'm curious about Exodus. they say (on reddit and steam) it's immersive, atmospheric, fantastic... but the dlc aren't that good.
so what should we do?!

@Darude84 I totally agree. It’s more complicated than it needs to be.

If you have a disc drive then yes, you might check for the physical disc. Looks like it’s going for about $27, which is on par with the digital sale price. It then has resale value also, so you could recoup another $10-15 back when you finish the game if you wanted. You also have the option to play the original launch version of the game before they heavily patched it and made it easier, if that’s your thing. 😅

@Th3solution buying specifically through the website portal allows for purchases of already-redeemed PS+ games (did it most recently for FF7 and FF8 when they were on sale).

@Max_the_German I loved Metro Exodus. It's not all narrow corridors. There are some large hub areas. It is atmospheric and visually spectacular. Somehow, 4A Games made it run at dynamic 4K / 60Hz with ray-tracing. Note that the HDR config screen is broken. I had to change the HDMI RGB range to "Full" on both my console and TV.

@NinjaNicky I mean, I just finished AC Valhalla and picked up Far Cry 6 in this sale. The idea that ubisoft are somehow worse than other companies is just a fashion statement with very little basis in fact. All companies are mercenary by nature. You should simply enjoy what you enjoy. 😊

@amatmulisha They say that the opponent AI is braindead, which‘d kill fun and immersion for me. I’m still on the fence with it. It’s not the money of course, bit I don’t want to waste it for some „solid“ entertainment, if I can spend my precious time with great as well.

Saw The Cure in concert last summer in Detroit—great show! Traffic stunk, so we got there late, but that’s ok, boys don’t cry. 😉

I’d love to see a sale where it’s just one game for sale from each video game company that produces games for PS5, and the catch is that the sale price is required to be less than what that game has ever been sold for in the PSN store. I’d call it the “Best of the Best for the Best” sale. It’d totally be the best sale ever! 😀

And, Sony marketing dept., if you decide to use my sale idea, as compensation I merely ask for $20 in store credit—a pittance for my insight. And, ideally, use my Timberwolves avatar somewhere on the splash banner. 😎

Bought Dark Souls 3. I know I'm late to the party, but what a game! I'm starting to wonder if it's not even better than Elden Ring.

@Darude84 yeah I just realised I only played the PS+extra version also. I've completed it minus the xenoglyph trophy and a glitch at lv 24 when going for Weapon Proficiency lv30 trophy. I game I'd want to go back to, to finish it off. It just feels great in motion and with an upgraded Hollowseeker.
