We'll be totally honest with you: we're losing track of all these incredibly pretty action games from newly sprouted Asian studios, but Where Winds Meet — announced during the latest State of Play — does look very promising. Described as an "open world action adventure RPG" heavily influenced by martial arts, this looks to be a fast-paced and tightly crafted PS5 title.
Where Winds Meet doesn't have a release window yet, but we're bound to hear more about it over the coming months. Again, though, we're just hoping that all of these action-focused games don't cannibalise each other.
What do you make of Where Winds Meet? Don't waste any movement in the comments section below.

We need more Chinese games.
The trailer was a bit deflating at first, but that's only because it makes the game look like a 1v1 boss rush. Glad to see there's a full game here.
This looks really cool but I hope the entire game isn’t just 1v1 or a boss rush game like the video made it seem.
Definitely has me interested probably more than anything else that was shown so I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it.
I don’t mind Soulsborne games but I kinda hate how they’ve largely replaced character action games. Every game is now trying to be Sekiro. Hopefully this game isn’t just a series of Sekiro bosses.
So yet another Souls-like.
I really miss old-school hack n slash games...
Looks like a Chinese Elden Ring. Dope.
I honestly thought this was a remake of an older Nioh game as some of the scenes were reminiscent.
That Erhu is rocking out. Anyway it looks good but since I have not heard of this studio i will wait on reviews (and possibly an xbox announcement. I can play the PS5 but the symmetrical layout makes games like this hard to play. ) but I am hopeful. Doesn’t feel like a soulslike to me but I may need more info.
Looks like another Chinese Odyssey game. Those giant creatures look like creature you would find in the Monkey King fable.
I played the closed beta on PC and it was really good for its current state.
The trailer really doesn't do it justice. It's a full open-world RPG with anything you can think of that made it an RPG. Crafting, Dungeon, World-Boss, Side Quests, Activities, factions (martial art schools), gear qualities, talent trees (and of course ability to learn other school of martial arts and wielding different weapons), and many more.
Can't wait till it's launched.
@QiaraIris That's good news! I love the type of game you describe here, but I'm Soulsbornes aren't my thing, so happy to hear that this might be more of an RPG
@FuriousMachine The boss fights are souls like, but you have difficulty options to make it easier like Rise of the Ronin.
I don't play Souls-game as I hate them, but Where Winds Meet will be a day 1 for me.
So many of these Sekiro/GoT clones now or upcoming; going to have to rely on reviews before getting hyped about most of them (Wukong does still have my attention, though!).
@QiaraIris Even better, because the epic boss battles of Soulslikes is one of the few things I actually like about them, and if it has adjustable difficulty then the worry of hitting a wall of frustration simply disappears. This just got me very excited
I'm done with souls- like, the burnout is real
Yes, please! Can't wait to give it a try.
@QiaraIris Interesting does sound a lot different to what they showed. No idea why they made it look like another soulsborne as it would have turned a lot of people of the game myself included.
@QiaraIris that’s great to hear, thanks!
This looks decent!
People think any action game with this camera angle and a lock on mechanism is a Soulslike. It's tiring. Demon's Souls incorporated existing mechanics and added its own ideas. Many 'Soulslike' mechanics were around long before From elevated themselves.
This looks more fast paced so it's closer to a Nioh/Team Ninja game than a Soulslike.
This one looks awesome, definitely going to my wishlist. The difficulty optioning warns me though if true, as I’m a souls veteran and trying to avoid games where you can change difficulty.
I can see the crouching tiger, hidden dragon influence and a lot of action focus.
I saw no open world RPG from this though. So...🤷 we'll see.
Love soulslikes, love RPGs. This is day 1, whenever that may be. And I do expect a physical edition, otherwise no dice
And please axe the difficulty options…
I'll consider this another Chinese tech demo until there's a review on Push.
@bindiana yeah I'm not sure why they're approaching the trailer as a Souls game when the actual game was really far from it.
It's really more Ghost of Tsushima with character creation. The boss fights can be similar to Sekiro due to its parry mechanic but there are difficulty options.
This is a true open world RPG, don't worry.
And difficulty options are here to stay. The studio wanted to make the game accessible to everyone.
Looks pretty nice so far. Will wait for more info.
Looks like spiritual successor to Sekiro and/or Nioh games in combat terms and may open world inspirations from Elden Ring (guessing on last part as not evident from video). Anyway, looks like my kind of game. Just on NG+ (hard) run to get plat for Stellar Blade (one of my surprise favourites this year).
