There was a day in the not so distant past that you would never see a game on ‘sale’ for £52.49. I miss those days.
@itsfoz Haha, yeah. It's a tricky one because these games obviously now cost an outrageous amount of money to make. But with the MSRP so high, even 20% discounts don't really move the needle much.
@get2sammyb 100% - don’t blame the devs given we’re seeing huge job losses even with these price gains but damn, gaming is an expensive hobby now.
@itsfoz yeah lol. That is so true. Gaming is an expensive hobby nowadays. Still remember my first time bought a ps4 slim, when new triple a games released,it’s always a day one purchases from me. Right now im prefer to buy 2nd hand games or wait for sales.
I do love me some of these prices. It helps me save aome money by not buying them.
@itsfoz I disagree that gaming is expensive. These full-price game typically have a play time of 30 hours and more. I see 2 quids per hour as not expensive. Of course, if you are a gaming junkie who spends 100 hours or more per month, it CAN be expensive, but doesn’t have to, it depends on the games you’re playing. Being an addict is in many cases not cheap (Netflix binging etc. aside).
Monster Hunter Rise for 8 quid is sn amazing deal. Been waiting for Rebirth to have a sale but think I'll wait for it to hit the magic £35 mark, like I did with XVI.
Oh hello Robocop
I’m half tempted by either Rebirth or Rise of Ronin. Amazon has the exact same prices for these though so I might buy physical
@SuperSilverback I picked it up on a previous sale, well worth it at sale price. I really enjoyed it and would recommend
So matching/more than what many cost physical
@itsfoz
Objectively, it's actually cheaper now than it was when the PS4 launched. A new game then was £50 - allowing for inflation that's about £80 in today's money.
You can make your own value appraisals of course, but it's cheaper now.
Every time I see gig prices I say "£80 to see a band playing live - that's ridiculous" simply because it was £5 or £10 when I was young. Gamers are getting older, but prices in our head don't change much
@Jey887 monster hunter rise is cheaper than that if you just buy the base game in the under £20 section but £8 for the game and expansion is still very good.
If I was going to purchase spiderman 2, I'd do so from argos and save myself £10 compared to this 'sale' price
@LordFunkalot I really enjoyed the Terminator game they made, always meant to get Robocop at some stage. With FF7 Rebirth and Fallout 4 PS5 outta my way now is a good a time as any!
Anyone into car racing titles like 'Dirt'?
Gravel Special edition is £2.39, and while it won't set the world on fire, thats a lot of decent racing for less than the cost of a coffee!
Not quite as good value, but 'Hot Wheels unleashed 2' for £13 has also caught my eye, as the first one was a real blast!
@Titntin I bought gravel ages ago in a sale for £3. It's actually a really good game.
@SuperSilverback I’m looking at the Dark Forces remaster and god of war Ragnarok. Just finished days gone which was really good to be fair
@SuperSilverback “come quietly or there will be….. trouble!” 😋
Going to get Expanse and Amnesia The Bunker. Would love to get Star Trek Resurgence when it's on offer and RDR1 when it gets 50% off. Lastly, when will the ps4 version of Signalis get that QOL patch?!
I recently finished Evil West & can definitely recommend it. Robocop is a no brainer at that price, excellent game.
C'mon everyone, treat yourself to something fun & different instead of the usual Final Fantasy, Spiderman, Assassin's Creed boring bloatfests. You deserve it!
@amatmulisha Man I miss the days of "Preorder and get " " off from Amazon and Best Buy here in the states. I would actually take a lot more chances at those prices. Now I just buy in volume at much cheaper prices. Can't let that backlog get to small!
@amatmulisha what are you talking about? Gaming is a very cheap hobby. You literally get 50-100h of entertainment for 1 game purchase.
I bought physical version of FF7 Rebirth from Amazon as I’m nearing the end of Stellar Blade and want a new game to sink my teeth into.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition for £8.99? Oh go then. Renegade Femshep coming up.
@Northern_munkey Oh wow, I never realised that was 8 quid with the expansion, presumed it was the base game. Talk about good value for money....
wow, what the proverbial pile of poop
@Jey887 oops my bad the base game is £8...the bundle is around £16. Sorry bud 👍
