It would be no surprise whatsoever to see God of War Ragnarok arrive on PC — but it might be dropping sooner than people realise. According to ultra-reliable leaker billbil-kun, the port's official announcement is coming "very soon", with the original PC version rumour doing the rounds earlier this month.
Is this yet more evidence of an imminent PlayStation Showcase? Maybe, but we could also see this being a thing at Summer Game Fest. In years past, Sony has handed some 'smaller' announcements over to Geoff Keighley's event, and this would certainly fit the bill. Either way, you can probably expect to see it over the next couple of weeks or so.
As for a release date, that's a little harder to predict. Ghost of Tsushima only just hit PC, and so there might be a bit of a gap until Ragnarok's arrival.

So many "X PlayStation announcement imminent" rumours lately that it's like we're having the showcase/state of play screamed in our faces.
The not-knowing is torturous. Sony please just give us a date or dispel the rumours.
Will this be the first game to come to pc before ps plus?! I own the game and I think its amazing, but to not have added it to ps plus first seems...something
@LordVile When Sony added Horizon Forbidden West to Plus it tanked sales of the game. I think Sony will wait a lot longer now to put their games on Plus.
@LordVile it is not having even 50% discount. 38% for couple times already. That game is kept Premium for as long as they can. Probably still is selling good enough to not give even for PS Extra.

True probs, but it is what they have done so far, and with the whole battle between gamepass and ps plus, what is best and what is sustainable it wouldn't hurt, albeit I'd prefer ff16, as I still need to pick that up but whatevs. Here's hoping it might work a bit better than the release of last of us part 1, it still crashes for me, and this is a year after release, and thats with sony games standardly being pretty power hungry as it is.

@AdamNovice @LordVile Sony's problem is probably that Plus isn't just for console it's also cloud/PC which they hadn't factored into their PC strategy. So if they put it on Plus first, PC players can stream the game on a plus sub which hurts the PC sales when launched. OTOH they have a cadence problem because if they wait so long for PC ports the marketing hype is long gone by the time it launches, GoT is already like $45 and it's only been a week and a half, and it's kind of worthless by the time it hits Plus for console. For MS that's not a problem because selling the sub is the main product on offer.
I think with future games they'll get the PC releases closer to console release to avoid these issues and share the marketing wave better rather than a cold dump years later to an unexcited market, and time Plus better so it doesn't look like a dumpster for forgotten games. These older games made for PS4 with old toolkits I imagine take a lot more work to port than newer games made with the PC port in mind at the start will and is why they're taking so long to launch.
Really want to pick this up, it’s on sale at the moment. I could get this or assassins creed mirage for half the price. Just finished days gone so would appreciate a shorter game, the first GOW remake was awesome tho and I bet this is awesome too.

EDIT: in the meantime the State of play was announced for May 30th. A little over 1 day to see if those rumors pan out.

Bur yep we moved on to letting us know that a game what's already out of PlayStation is going to PC which we already knew.
Just give us the showcase. We are nearly out of may. These rumours are becoming more like end of the world predictions haha
@LordFunkalot whenever you decide to play it, all I know is that you're in for a treat. I beat it a few days ago and loved every second (apart from some puzzles early on). Part of me wishes I could delete it from my memory and replay it. The story (and the way it's told) is fantastic and the combat superb. My only problem is that they raise the bar so high that every other hack & slash pales in comparison.
If they announce it relatively soon for a November PC release that's a full 2 years after the dual PS4/5 release so I don't think that's a problem. And I do think it's better for them making $ putting it on PC for full price before the currently way overpriced PS+. Game has been out for about 18 months, haven't seen it go much below $40 yet, which I think is pretty good for a video game these days, anything by Ubisoft would have been $9.99 by now.
Most people who wanted to play it on PS4/5 probably have by now. I haven't, been waiting for a $20 BF sale, but my PC won't run it and I'm not a PC gamer so I can wait. My library does have it on the shelf, forget if it's PS4 or PS5 version, so I could borrow it for free, but I've read it's like 40 hours and I can't do that w/ a 1 week or 2 borrow. But if it's not on sale for $20 by this BF I might.
