Metal Gear Solid fans may be made to wait a little longer for the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, as PS Plus insider turned general leaker Billbil-Kun has shared word of a new 2025 release window for the game. In a new article on Dealabs, they claim the date comes from a "global distribution giant". Unannounced release timings from retailers can always be quite flaky, but on Billbil-Kun's end, they say more official information is coming shortly.
The leaker reveals a "new announcement will take place within the next 10 days", and pre-orders will be available right after the reveal. They say there'll be a standard edition at $69.99 and a collector's edition for $199.99.
As for where the game might show up during the Summer Game Fest season right around the corner, either the Xbox Games Showcase or the SGF live show itself seem most likely. While Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was originally announced during a PlayStation Showcase, it then appeared later on an Xbox Partner Preview livestream. Last night's State of Play has already been and gone now so Sony isn't showing it again.
Like Silent Hill 2 from Konami — which was dated for 8th October last night — it was thought the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 might also come out in 2024 after both titles appeared in a Sony trailer at the start of the year teasing what's to come. According to Billbil-Kun, this is no longer the case.

I think they'll keep us waiting hehe still, I hope its good. Same goes for SH2 Remake.
I still think they should have started with the PS1 MGS. Its obvioustly tho one most in need of a remake. Unless they are just doing them in order.
Didn’t think it would be out this year anyway they only announced it last year.
Rather they took their time to make it good, hoping they don’t ruin the remake
@Kidfunkadelic83
If they do remake the first MGS I’d love them to include the extend hallway scene from Twin snakes and also include the boss themes from Twin snakes as well.
Hope they don’t just use the MGS main theme again for every boss
Expect more proper info during the Xbox Showcase in a few days!
I wouldn't care if it was pushed to the PS6 as long as it can get at least an 8.
The leaker said, "pre-orders will be available right after the reveal". Man, Metal Gear is one of my 3 favorite series ever, but good sweet baby Jesus I can't imagine pre-ordering this.
I would assume it will be the Xbox showcase is where we will see it. We all know Geoff's bad blood with Konami is still too strong because of his friendship with Kojima. It would be cool to see the Master Collection Vol. 2 this year to bridge the gap!
I hope this is good because it has great potential to resurrect the franchise. I think next 10 days makes it seem like Summer games fest. Could be xbox but it feels like it would do better as a Keighley reveal
If the CE is good I'm getting it. MGS3 is my all time favourite game.
@Dragoon1994 After Phantom Pain, they should have remade MG1 and MG2 then remade MGS1 with Hayter back as Solid Snake. MGS1 could have been outsourced.
Thank god.
Just got the HD collection (again, but for PS5 lol) and hopefully I can finish them this year
PS5 the generation of remakes and remasters.
Can't wait to play PS3 remakes for PS4 remade for PS5 on the PS6
@JohntheRaptor
True but Snake Eater is the easiest entry point for new players since it’s the first in the series order technically.
Without Kojima though I feel as though the games won’t feel the same
They'll probably ruin it. There's no MGS without Kojima san same way there's no Ninja Gaiden without Itakagi san. These companies should just move on with new IP's and take the L's for their decisions.
@Dragoon1994 It's interesting that certain aspects of Twin Snakes became canon - specifically, the redone voice work for Mei Ling and Naomi Hunter.
I wonder how jarring it was for people who never played Twin Snakes to hear Mei Ling and Dr. Hunter without accents in MGS4.
@Malaise Agree with you, the odd remake is good for new gamers to get to appreciate old classic games. However, it's just been constant this generation.
Bummer, i was hoping splinter cell remake and mgs3 remake would release this year
