Sony has finally announced the heavily rumoured State of Play presentation. It'll be going out live tomorrow, 30th May 2024.
The platform holder says we can look forward to "updates on PS5 and PS VR2 titles, plus a look at PlayStation Studios games arriving later this year". It sounds like we'll finally be getting a glimpse at what some of Sony's first-party teams are up to, then.
The show will include a total of 14 games across 30+ minutes, Sony says. The State of Play will begin at 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm BST | May 31 12am CEST / 7am JST.
That's about all we know; the PS Blog post is very minimal. Still, there's very little time to wait between now and showtime, so all our questions will (hopefully) be answered very soon.
Are you excited for the State of Play? What are you hoping to see during its runtime? Discuss in the comments section below.

Let the moaning about no State of Play announcement cease...
and the moaning about the State of Play games commence.
10/10 State of Play if they show a non-VR Astro Bot game.
Some first party PSVR2 games would be great, but I'm losing hope.
đ¤ maybe they close with a Santa Monica/bluepoint/sucker punch reveal? I give it a 50/50 shot.
N.i.c.e. sony got the juice like 2 pac.it will be interesting to see what games sony shows.word up son
Cool. Fingers crossed for some Ghost of Tsushima news.
Finally. Here we go!!
Not gonna lie, Iâm disappointed itâs not a showcase but last yearâs âshowcaseâ was nothing more than a disguised State of Play so Iâm willing to give it a chance (Astro Bot please!).
However, the wait for a big event continues as weâve gone almost 3 years (since September 2021) without a proper showcase or conference like we used to have.
The rumour was a Showcase, not a State of Play.
Give me a platformer, Sony. It's all I ask
I wouldâve like to see a full press event - but Iâll take what I can get!
Had a hunch Sony's Summer presentation was gonna be a State of Play due to the radio silence the week beforehand (if it was a PS Showcase, they would've promo-ed the HELL out of it beforehand) and I'm happy to see it officially confirmed. PS Studios titles being here also has me incredibly intrigued as to what that could entail (it'll probably just be a combination of Fairgame$, Concord and Marathon but let me dream goddamnit XD). Excited for tomorrow!
It'll probably be ''meh'' again, as usual. I'd be VERY surprised if there's a single title in there that will actually pique my interest
Not a showcase, but thatâs alright. Weâre getting other big shows in June and the announcement confirms first party updates. Looking forward to tomorrow!
First party updates for this year, soooo Concord and the Destiny expansion only, gotcha.
So the showcase is September then as the latest rumours suggested.
I think we will see updates on Concord, Fairgames and at the end they will reveal the Astro Bot game for this holiday season. Then we will get the usual third party exclusives like Silent Hill 2, little devil inside and some surprise reveal like Resident Evil 9, maybe even some MGS remake gameplay and some new info on Pragmata. For me that would be a decent showing.
And then save the first party single player games for Septembers showcase which they will probably have more to show then, alongside the PS5 PRO reveal which will launch in November.
Looking forward to the next couple of weeks though with this, summer games fest, Marvelous stream and hopefully a Nintendo Direct.
Glad to see them announce it so the rumours can stop. Not expecting much as Sony has basically already said no games for a year but at least it's go time.
And here we go đđť
Finally đ looking forward to it!
I will be there, and I will be disappointed. But I will be there!
Code Veronica remake announcementâŚPlease đ
I just want them to finally announce theyâre leaving the PS4 to rest and ending cross-genđđť
Please, let the Astro Bot game be hybrid VR, so both PS VR2 owners and flat screen players can enjoy it.
12am for europeans? Yeah no thx, I'll read the articles in the morning
No showcase then, Iâll reserve judgement till Iâve watched it
@UltimateOtaku91 Honestly I think we just shouldnât expect a Showcase for September, the usual clickbait journalists will claim every week a showcase is coming (just like this month) only to back off the last week saying that Sony âchanged plansâ and we get a State of Play instead, thereâs always a Sony event on September but after 3 years waiting Iâd rather set my expectations low.
Woooo! Here's hoping for that Lego Horizon game đ
kingdom hearts 4, wolverine, death stranding 2, ghost of tsushima 2, mgs 1,2,3 remake or nothing!!!
11pm for UK??? Used to be 9pm for us, then 10, now 11. F***ks sake man
Better than nothing, looks like we might get a showcase in the fall with the reveal of the pro.
Shame it's not a full show, they really should be doing a big show at this point.
State of play is OK, but we're just gonna get a few videos of games with little insight over 30 minutes, so it's almost disappointing regardless of the titles at this point.
Looking forward to seeing what Sony has up its sleeve for the remainder of the year!
Dragon Quest 2D-HD UPDATE?!
Let's goooooo!
@Maubari I feel like there's always infinitely more excitement surrounding the idea of a State of Play than there is with actually watching one XD
Hey isnât the Silent Hill transmission tmrw too??? đ¤
Ok. A while back the last psvr2 update allowed for pc access without the need of a ps5 middleman... this was a big move and also discontinued the theater mode on psvr2 headsets meaning they are planning a full on pc allowance for psvr2... I believe they will talk about this in some way at this showcase as sony has not mentioned details yet
If the rumoured Astro Boy game and MediEvil 2 remake show up, it's already a success for me
Why have they given such short notice for the event? Aren't they supposed to try get as many viewers as possible?
Awesome, love the short turn around between announcement and actual event!
@naruball I'll be surprised (pleasantly) if we see anything from first party for VR2 in the next year.
The strategy for now seems to be funding third party AAA and AA games like Resi.
Before they launched the headset they said they were going to take a rising tide approach. It's reminding me of what they did with PS1 and the focus on blockbuster third party games back then.
I'd love to be wrong though.
OoohâŚ30+ minutes. Donât overwhelm us Sony!!!
@Shepherd_Tallon you're most likely right, but I find it surprising because, even though people complain that psvita never received any support from Sony and was immediately abandoned, in reality it received several excellent exclusives from existing and new IPs. I expected at the very least that level of commitment, yet here we are.
It's not a Showcase, so keep your expectations in check. We've had some good State of Plays so hopefully this one will be a solid one. I'm guessing Concord, Astro, and hopefully Ghost of whatever.
Be lying if said ain't a little excited for this given how there's actually 1st party this time in this SoP. Of course expectations are always in check still. Trying to get my head round it, as to what those 1st party releases are that are releasing this year, all that comes to mind is Concord and Astrobot off the top of my head. Hopefully a big 1st party release coming this year none of us saw coming would be nice. Wonder if Silent Hill 2 and MGS3 remakes be ready for this year
So no PS pro announcement i suppose. All i need is a good PSVR2 title or release date for the pc adaptor.
@rjejr no they havent, they said no new in major existing franchise.
I'm excited but after the last showcase and state of play, I'm going in with lowish expectations, that way I can't really be disappointed. If we get the rumored Astro bot game and at least one other big-ish surprise that will be a good showing in my opinion
Remember to keep expectations low
Also my expectations:
Yep, totally won't be disappointed in this SoP
14+ titles being shown, so that's maybe 7 or 8 3rd party titles, 2 or 3 PSVR2 titles and possibly 3 or 4 1st party titles?
Okay, I have actually adjusted my expectations to almost zero.
I wanna see that new Astrobot game.
Other than that, I have no expectations.
Astro Bot! Astro Bot! Astro Bot! Should be a pretty fun show!
Hope itâll be good!
This being an SoP and not the so called bigger Showcase, possibly means PlayStations reveals at Summer Games Fest could be a lot bigger than expected and potentially the big PS Showcase is later this year for what's to come in 2025 and potentially 2026 along with a PS5pro reveal. If we do get a Showcase this year that is
Please let a PSVR2 game be Astro Bot!!!!
IMO I think Sony have understood that when a product is ready they will announce everything when things are more definitive like development progress and release dates. The silence is terrible as we can all agree as fans we want to be in the know but it just means the end result is a great line up to look forward to at full quality. The industries changing drastically and to be honest a lot of the studios have been quiet for too long so it is a little bit disappointing weâll have to wait longer.
I expected the rumours of a state of play to coincide with a showcase in September to be true because Sony will likely throw a few things in the summer showcase, leaving them to a full blown showcase last later in the year to show off ps5 pro with new titles upcoming.
In bummed itâs not a Showcase. My PS5 keeps shutting off, and I was hoping to pick up a PS five Pro at the end of this year. Doesnât look like theyâll be announcing the pro if itâs not a showcase, but thatâs just a guess. I hope itâs a good one!
Guaranteed this will suck eggs
Spidey 2 DLC please đ
Totally unrelated, but 12am is so confusing why is it not 0am or 12pm.
I am not going to stay up at least as last times it was really disappointing
any game is just fine but I hope for FF9 Remake
@Ashina jesus man đ
@Fizza Haha very true. Same goes with Nintendo Directs; I usually watch them for the chat and not for the games - the chaos that ensues in the live chat is absolutely brilliant lmao
''Barf'' ''Clown'' and ''Annoyed'' emoji's and ''ZZZZ'' reactions galore!
Is this Sony's summer showcase then?
@Maubari Oh yeah the chats are great; not usually the Youtube/Twitch ones as they tend to be pretty disrespectful from what I've seen, but the ones on sites like here and NLife are always a blast to be a part of
Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake
At a push FF 9 remake, but not optimistic
Metro VR
Plus a few indie games
Possibly Helldivers 2 DLC?
Expect PS5 pro to be revealed closer to launch in a blog post
@Donjuanton Mine did that. Suggest you take the covers off and use a vacuum on the designated vacuum holes (and separately clean the vents and fan cover with a cotton bud). It seemed to work for me.
I've had the same occur with 2 PS5's now. It's a very poorly designed console imo. I've never had to clean out my consoles before
ModNation Racers and LBP to get a full reboot with active servers 'n' everything! C'mon Sony, you know you want to!
Remember, Sony has said there will be no major exclusives from there first party studios until April of next year so we will see nothing big. Some third party stuff and maybe an Astrobot, which is fine. Its not what the majority bought a PlayStation for however. Pretty disappointed. Sony needs to start showing something otherwise this really is the worst generation since Play Station has been around.
@Frmknst
Finally deliver? Sony have been delivering for over a decade.
2013: The Last of Us
2014: Infamous: Second Son, Resogun
2015: Bloodborne, Until Dawn
2016: Uncharted 4, the Last Guardian
2017: Horizon: ZD, Uncharted: LL, Gravity Rush 2, GT Sport
2018: God of War, Spider-man, Shadow of the Colossus Remake
2019: Dayâs Gone, Death Stranding, Dreams
2020: TLOUII, Ghost of Tsushima, Mile Morales, Demonâs Souls
2021: Returnal, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
2022: Gran Turismo 7, God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon: FW
2023: Spider-man 2
2024: Helldivers 2, Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin
Compare that list to other big publishers and see how they compare. EA, Activision, Ubisoft, Microsoft, Take-Two etc. Only really Nintendo have been able to consistently release quality games on this kind of scale and regularity.
Nice to see that a PS event is happening after all. Also this doesn't have the Summer Game Fest branding which means there'll be more announcements at Summer Game Fest considering Playstation is a partner.
@naruball Me too. Even some VR1 ports would cheer me up at this point.
@naruball It has great experiences, but yeah in this era the platform will be judged based on the first party support. It's a fair demand too - We want to know how committed the platform holder is to the platform.
For right now I'll be happy with some gameplay for Behemoth.
It's the VR game I'm most excited for and the only game that I feel I really need to be shown something of at this point.
@Sifi why do you care? You donât own a PlayStation? You despise everything to do with PlayStation so why even have an account here?
@Sifi
Youâre either bad at maths or youâre conveniently forgetting Horizon: Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7.
So annoying how they wait to the last minute to announce these. No one has time to even plan to watch these.
@ChrisDeku I get your point but I do think that people who bought a PS5 for next gen gaming are questioning their purchase due to the lack of games they couldn't have possibly had on PS4.
That's been the biggest thing for me. This gen has been incredibly dull in my opinion. And the way Sony have abandoned the PSVR2 so far has definitely given me buyer's remorse.
I've said in previous posts that I've unboxed my PS3 and am having an amazing time with it. I even bought another system in case mine dies on me.
Here's hoping for a good show though.
@RBMango 11/10 if itâs a PSVR2 game.
@Sifi 2 and half years ago was the end of 2021. Since then there's been Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Forbidden West, The Last of Us Part 1, God of War RagnarĂśk and Spider-Man 2. All quality titles.
Imagine coming here as an Xbox troll when you've got Redfall, Starfield, Forza Motorsport and Hellblade II to show for the same period haha
Cool finally! But 30mins kinda short nah??
Astrobot seems like a safe bet for me!
Montage trailer of every Insomniac VR title is ported with enhanced & expanded editions to PSVR2.
Edge of Nowhere, Feral Rites, The Unspoken & Stormland... Available after the state of play.
Cut to black with a slow fade in of a 1st person view from the top of the Empire State Building, looking across the skyline... A call comes in and an icon of Ganke pops up in the bottom right hand corner, saying there's a problem. The 1st person camera dives off the Empire State Building and with their arm outstretched to show a red & black suit design, ready for a web swing. Sharp cut to black.... electrified logo appears with very memorable music... It's a Miles Morales 1st person spin off VR title.
Heard it here first folks
Removed - flaming/arguing; user is banned
Astrobot, Sony. ASTROBOT ON PSVR2 YOU COWARDS!!!
Also...that FF9 remake...please?
I just want a surprise!
By "surprise" I mean brand new WipeOut, nothing more, nothing less.
Yes finally come on
Odds of seeing Silksong?
Really am excited for tomorrow, hopefully we'll see something good like that rumoured god of war trilogy remastered since God of war is a 1st party franchise! âď¸
I'll just say one thing: Manage your expectations.
My son Drake's 10th birthday is tomorrow. I am now predicting an Uncharted announcement.
Silent Hill 2 will most likely be shown, especially as Konami have a silent hill live stream right after Sony's state of play.
This being seemingly âdowngradedâ is a bit worrying I must admit. That possibly explains the late announcement and lack of marketing on Sonyâs part. At least they arenât calling it a showcase and then putting out a glorified state of play like last year. In all honesty I would just bin the âshowcaseâ moniker altogether and have every one named âState of Playâ. I do however, remain optimistic that they have some really good stuff to show us. I hope none of the time is taken up by any PS5 Pro announcement. I would rather they did a separate smaller event to debut the new hardware. So Sony, show us what you got!
@RBMango That's all I'm hoping for. If they show Astro on PS5 without need for VR I'll be happy.
I hope it's 100% first party. It's time for Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Bluepoint, and possibly Bend to unveil what they are working on. Those studios in particular have been quiet for way too long. Also, I hope Astrobot makes an appearance.
What I really want to see is whatever Blue Point are working on.
The fact that it's just a small 30 min state of play and not a showcase is very telling.
Temper your expectations, as this is going to be another very underwhelming showing from an out of touch Sony. Unless you are really Looking forward to Concord, Destiny, or the other live service garbage in the works.
Concord is the safest bet considering they are claiming it's releasing this year and all we have seen of it is a lame cg trailer for it.
I was hoping Sony would realize post Jimbo that their image has taken a big hit over the Ps5 life cycle thus far, but apparently the tone deaf nature of their plans and consumer relations is far more systemic.
I'd be happy with updates on previously announced Exodus, Pragmata, Aftermath and DS2. Also, give me Stellar Blade 2. Lol.
@Judal27 the cycle wont stop
PSVR2 news has me crossing my fingers for a Child of Eden port. Rez Infinite is one of my favourite PSVR titles (the VR2 upgrade is excellent) and Iâve been longing to be immersed in CoEâs psychedelic beauty, flying around the phoenix boss.
Realistically, Iâm not expecting it, but it would make me so damn happy if it happened.
Also Astro Bot with optional VR.
@ChrisDeku Well said đđđ
@__jamiie I think we really need to stop thinking in terms of fixed generations like this. The cost to make games exclusive to one console is prohibitive nowadays until enough units have been sold, ESPECIALLY if you are making games that push the hardware which is likely if it's a 'next-gen' exclusive. Plus making games takes so long that games coming out now likely started life on PS4 dev kits.
For me buying a PS5 was worth it for the drastically improved load times, frame rates etc. as well as playing games at a higher fidelity.
But there HAVE been several great 'next-gen' only games like Returnal, Spider-man 2, R&C: Rift Apart, FF7R, FF16, Deathloop, Dead Space, Stellar Blade, A Plague Tale Requiem, Jedi: Survivor, Scorn, Hi-Fi Rush, Astro's Playroom... just to list a few, there are many more.
@Neverwild While you probably are technically correct, can never tell w/ Sony as they just deleted AN ENTIRE INTERVIEW b/c they misspoke, I think I'm philosophically correct and stand by it until proven otherwise.
@Beerheadgamer82 agree 100%. Last year they had the showcase and it ended with Spider-Man 2, but with no release date. With this State Of Play they could do something similar where they show a game and then at SGF they give the release date! The showcase later in September (according to rumors) will probably be to show off the PS5 Pro!
Most likely horizon zero dawn remaster announced tomorrow
Not a showcase đ
What I really want:
A showcase of FairGame$ that are widely criticized by everyone.
What I'll likely get:
Some boring, super exciting game announcement.
Imagine if Fairgame$ looked super great, and I would have to walk back two years of critizising Haven and Jade Raymond.... the horror...
@themightyant I'll agree that faster load times are better. I'll agree that improved frame rates and higher fidelity are better.
But are the games? I don't think they are. Especially not for spending the best part of half a grand.
And most of the 'next gen' games you listed could have been achieved on PS4 Pro and especially Xbox One X, with little to no compromise.
I've constantly been bitterly disappointed by everything so far this gen of PlayStation and Xbox. My Switch is my most used console followed by my Quest 3. Not because of anything other than the fact the games are fun to play and (in the case of Quest) hassle free.
@KundaliniRising333 why are you even on this site when you hate Sony so much?
@Max_the_German Or maybe both that would still be 10.5/10.
Maybe they'll finally reveal that new PS handheld that they are rumored to be making.
@__jamiie "And the way Sony have abandoned the PSVR2 so far has definitely given me buyer's remorse." Did sony ? So far psvr2 got as big VR exclusives gt7, cotm, re4, re8. Is that so bad for the first year? Is there any platform that is served better (given the still very small VR market) ? Maybe, there won't be anything interesting for psvr2 this year, but at the moment nothing is really known.
@gaston Only two of those games are first party so I'll, sadly, stand by my arguement. The fact that you're trying to say otherwise suggests that you haven't spent ÂŁ530 on one like I have.
@__jamiie Just seems odd to me that on the one hand you are saying Switch is your most used console because the "games are fun to play" and on the other you want games that push next-gen hardware. Which is it? The two rarely go hand in hand.
I just think we need to get away from this idea of generations, as making games rarely fits into them. Developing games takes too long and costs too much to make them for just one console, at least until nearer the end of the gen... and then we will be onto PS6 cross-gen games... cue more outrage.
Personally i've been very happy with PS5, but then I see it more as a hardware upgrade than a completely distinct generation. And as for games? There's been no shortage of great ones to play, I don't care if they are PS4, PS5 or even Switch, there literally isn't enough time in the day for me to play all the games i'd like to, even if I retired. I just think you are setting yourself up for disappointment waiting for "next-gen" games.
I always wonder-after an announcement like this, is the excellent Push Square staff as excited as we are, or is there a part of them that is like "Man, tomorrow is going to be a long, writing filled day?"
Either way, thanks in advance for the always great coverage. We may like what is shown, we may hate what is shown, but we will certainly have the information we need to make the conclusion. Thanks PS!
You can tell how starved people have been for PS news when instead of frustration that what should be a showcase is just a 30 minute throw away SoP everyone's like "yaaay, the event we've been waiting for!"
@Shepherd_Tallon "said they were going to take a rising tide approach."
This isn't a rising tide approach, it's more like a "sitting on the dock of the bay" approach.
@naruball Yeah, I was heartened last year when they announced the summer showcase would feature PSVR2 games, and what we got was two blink and you miss it indie trailers at the tail end prepping the GT movie trailer for 5 minutes. I'm not sure I'm willing to get hyped this time, which probably means it'll be Astrobot lol.
@KundaliniRising333 In fairness, this presentation is still a product of the Jimbo regime. They JUST appointed a new leadership a few weeks ago, just after they scrapped most of Jimbo's projects in the works, and announced they've really got nothing until April, so we shouldn't be surprised this show is still a reflection of Jim's PS. It's not like a new exec gets shipped in from Tokyo and removes the Jim stink from all the upholstery in a few weeks. We probably won't know for 6-12 months if the new leadership "gets it" or not, though I do worry with Jim's Mini-Me in Hulst still running studios. But the platform guy, hopefully knows what he's doing.
"I don't believe in generations."
-@themightyant
A mere State of Play then, huh...
They gave up on Showcases since last year's abysmal edition with Jim Ryan's mug plastered on it?
I hope they at least show meaningful content... it's about damned time they share some of the future good stuff coming in !
A State of Play on May 30th and a PlayStation showcase on June 6th. What a week!
Hopefully we are going to see the start of the trend SP < GAAS ...
As usual I'll try and keep expectations low, but if this alleged Astro Bot game is announced and doesn't need VR, I will be ecstatic.
@Rob_230 ubisoft has their own thing coming up , im guessing they save a full shadows reveal for that.
Not going to lie after Hell Divers 2, i think FairGame$ can be great too. as for the rest , i think it should in between 0 and expect something. but either people let their own thoughts get out of control or they read too many false rumors that are put out there to get people to view their site. take everything with a grain of salt till its actually announced imo.
Looking forward to it. There is hope.
I dunno what to expect. The last few show kinda meh. Hopefully this much better. Hoping for news of little devil inside.
It's not a Showcase, but this needs to at least help redeem their Showcase from last year by showing future 1st party games from developers that haven't released anything in years. I'll keep my expectations in check given how horribly inconsistent their shows have been this gen, but what I said still needs to happen regardless.
@themightyant I recognise that the Switch has had, by far, the best library of any console over the last 7 years. If not ever.
On the other hand, if I pay ÂŁ500+ for a console that promises next gen, I expect it to deliver. Neither Xbox nor PlayStation have delivered on their promises.
Switch has delivered on its promise.
How is that difficult to understand?
@themightyant Well, we can already moan that it's just a State of Play and not a proper Showcase, as was previously rumored.
I'm hopeful that there will finally be a proper push for PSVR2:
Now, the icing on the cake would be the announcement that the new Astro game would be fully playable in VR. At this point it's fair to assume it will be a hybrid, but still...
I've been playing Synapse over the last few days and, man! When a VR game hits, it's something truly special. It's such a shame that Sony hasn't fully committed to the platform. But hey, maybe it was Jim Ryan's fault all along. It kinda feels like Sony has suddenly woken up to PSVR2. Better late than never?
Ey there you go. But it's not a showcase though like some insiders said lol.
I personally only want to see new Astro Bot or whatever Team Asobi is working on which hopefully not exclusives for VR. And Bluepoint game cause this studio is really silent for 4 years after they released Demon's Souls remake.
Outside that, i have very low expectations since i don't care about live service games like Concord and Fairgame$ or VR games.
@Smithylfc2008 I'll never stay awake till that late đ
@NEStalgia same here. The psvr2 announcements were great, but there were only 2(?) and with zero first party games, it felt like a joke.
@Smithylfc2008 It's so dumb. That is 11pm for us, Midnight for most of the rest of Europe. Crazy for what is Sony's biggest market.
Better be some PS5 âexclusiveâ games actually shown, actual current gen stuff!
@__jamiie I only spend 599 EUR on the bundle. I cannot say that I had been disappointed up to now. At the moment I am waiting for something I fancy.
Do You think re4 and re8 are psvr2 exclusive because capcom thought psvr2 will rock ? Similarly why is re7 a psvr1 exclusive ? Maybe sony gave capcom a large enough sum of money. Would that not count as support in Your eyes ?
@naruball It was worse than that because they were 2 we'd already heard about previously, they were extremely brief, and they were shoved between, I think a Destiny 2 expansion and the GT movie trailer. All after they teased PSVR2 announcements. It was more like they were trolling us. Or mocking us...
@gaston I just want some sign from Sony that they aren't leaving everything to 3rd parties. As I've said before, even a few VR1 ports would do for now. Meta have a new Batman VR exclusive arriving on Quest in the future and yet Sony haven't talked about any news games since launch.
@Sifi itâs pretty clear you donât. Everyone has read your comments on PX. And thatâs fine. PlayStation isnât for everyone just as an Xbox/pc etc isnât for everyone
@__jamiie I don't really care whether games are third, second or third party as long they are interesting. But I agree with the sentiment that there is no visible engagement. It would be sufficient to know for example that the new game from IoI will have a VR mode. Even if that will release in 2 years. Things take time and they are better released in a ready state. So, if nothing is ready right now, at least give some signs that something is still coming, that there is a plan. There are many small games which are really good. Often small games are even more creative. But, at the same time it would be really good to know that some big block buster titles are still coming and will have full VR support (a la re4, village)
@gaston I completely agree with you. I adore my PSVR2 and I've bought so many games for it. I just wish that Sony would show more. I'm not asking for them to put billions into developing games. I'd love to see PSVR1 games get ported. I'd love to see VR modes added to games in the same way GT and WipeOut did.
@__jamiie Fully agree. It would be great to see more psvr1 games being ported. There are so many great games limited to the psvr1 audience, which is a shame. Many of them, besides the low resolution of psvr1, are better than most of the current VR games.
Its is also hard to understand why not more companies add VR modes like capcom. All VR modes I tried, really transformed the game. Such modes could even be sold as a DLC, I would bet. I doubt that one would make a lot of money with such modes, but such modes should be relatively "cheap" to make and it should be possible to regain the investment. I really do not understand why there are no (so few) people in game studios who think the same. But maybe most people who make games do not like or play games ?
