Throne and Liberty, Amazon Games' next big outing, is slated to launch on PS5 on 17th September, with an open beta scheduled for mid-July. Developed by NCSoft, the minds behind PC MMOs Guild Wars and City of Heroes, it looks like it will find a welcome audience on PlayStation.
Set in a warring open world, Throne and Liberty is a game of exploration and "massive-scale combat" accommodating "thousands of players at once" as they fight for the future of the world of Solisium. According to the game's official description: "Adapt your fight to survive and thrive through strategic decisions in PvP, PvE, or both as you encounter evolving battlefields impacted by weather, time of day, and other players. There is no single path to victory as you seek to defeat Kazar and claim the throne while keeping rival guilds at bay."
What do you think of Throne and Liberty? Does it look like a promising new game world to get lost in? Does it have what it takes to compete with heavyweights like Final Fantasy XIV or Elder Scrolls Online on console? Let us know in the comments section below.

Well, depends on classes, races, skills. Looks promising though.
I doubt it'll pull me away from The Elder Scrolls Online, but I'll definitely give it a try.
I was never really a fan of GW2 style, but a lot of people like it. FFXIV is the only MMO that has been able to keep me coming back, at least for short bursts to catch up on the story.
This looks like all the fake game ads on TikTok. It mimics its gameplay with CGI cut scenes so it seems way more engaging than it is.
Could be of interest as ESO seems broken at the moment. Going into the Crown Crates screen causes the game to lock up and eventually the PS4 crashes out to the dashboard.
