Ahead of Ubisoft's showcase (which is scheduled for tomorrow at the time of writing), we've been handed our first real look at Assassin's Creed Shadows. While it's not uncut, it is gameplay footage, and gives us a quick look at the title's open world, stealth, and combat. As expected, fights differ greatly between protagonists. Naoe is agile and uses tricky weapons, while Yasuke is a hulking warrior who wields more traditional armaments.
We'll obviously see more of Shadows at the aforementioned Ubisoft briefing, but until then, let us know what you think of this upcoming adventure in the comments section below.

I haven't been interested in an AC game since Origins, but I'm definitely interested in this.
Looked much better here
I haven’t play AC since I tried, and didn’t like, the first game. This looks cool though.
This really looked interesting, good job Ubi
Yeah still not buying it
I wish Ubi would be brave enough to have a female solo lead, Yasuke looks like he'll be fun to play as but no
where near as fun as Naoe...
Made me more hyped for tomorrow!
Not gonna lie the stealth character gameplay looks dope. Makes me Miss the old tenchu days. Hopefully. This one is more refined and leans into that and less of the copy and paste enemy emcampment raids, and other open world bloat.
@NinjaNicky I remember Syndicate quite fondly, seems to be largely forgotten.
Looks HYPE AF. Hopefuly this shuts up the haters. I think it looks great and different
Their past 3 games have been an utter waste of time. An insult to the player's time, money and intellect.
How is this crap gonna be different?
@Mintie
Lmao you expect Ubisoft to tone it down and focus on one thing?
Their past decade of utter crap was pretty consistent in many of their games trying to do everything while failing miserably at all of them.
Many vehicles, all drive like crap. Many weapons, all feels, looks and sounds like trash. Many characters to play from, all written incredibly poorly. Many customisations, everything feels cheap. Many things to do in their games, nothing is worth your damn time. They try to throw the wides possible net to try and attract everyone, when you actually play their games...
Horrible game design. Just insanely horrible. It's a disgrace. How people are still getting excited baffles the mind. Honestly
Man I love AC games so much. My gaming guilty pleasure. I'm replaying AC odyssey and its just great. I always stop and just look around at how beautiful it is. Love the history and cultures.
Yea I'm all in for this. Collectors edition ordered!
Looks amazing. I have high expectations. Might even be better than Odyssey and Valhalla which were almost perfect.
I like the contrast between the characters
Yeah this looks like Syndicate but in Japan. But i enjoyed Syndicate so i could add this to my wishlist.
Looks good. Can't wait to play it next year when the complete edition is on sale.
@AFCC Probably not, they'll just make up something else to whine about!
Trailer looks ok, but being Ubisoft, the visuals will be watered down and gameplay will not be as good once the final product is released. This is just a cg trailer.
Looks excellent! The animations in particular look really slick and well done. Really excited for the gameplay tomorrow!
This looks good. I find most AC games are just comfort food. I don’t go in expecting anything groundbreaking but they’re generally well enough made and entertaining.
I’ll probably pick this up at launch
@Specky reading your comment, I don't think there's much present to insult.
The trailers always look great, even the gameplay trailers. But people shouldnt forget this is ubisoft… so expect the worst and your expectations will be met or slightly exceeded
@JohntheRaptor
Epic diss.
Average Ubisoft enjoyer who can't comprehend their games can and NEED to be way better, but instead dunks on people who demand more.
This is why our industry is so pathetically mediocre
@Specky agreed. I still play every ac game and get the platinum trophy but its obvious that these games are made to make money. They dont care about the stories in these games anymore which is sad since to me they were the best parts (the modern day especially)
So can the entire game be played as naoe or would I be forced into playing as the other guy? Gameplay wise he looks kinda boring but she looked quite fun. But it's a Ubisoft game so it's an automatic pass anywho
Looks really good imo. They just need to iron out a couple of things here and there. I'm hoping however, the missions are not all reduced to "go here, assassinate, run away". There should be some form of consequences
