Wingspan is a relaxing strategy card game about birds for one to five players, and it's coming to PS5 and PS4. Based on the award-winning board game of the same name, take on the role of a bird enthusiast seeking to discover and attract the best, most beautiful birds for your network of wildlife preserves. There's no release date yet, but you'd best believe we'll be keeping our eyes peeled.
The aim of the game is to use your various birds to build up your own preserve, with each making you better at laying eggs, drawing cards, gathering food, and, in the case of the Magpie, gleefully swooping small children (probably). Wingspan sports an impressive bestiary of these winged beasties, boasting that "many of the 170 unique birds have powers that echo real life: your hawks will hunt, your pelicans will fish, and your geese will form a flock".
If you consider yourself a proper birder, perhaps the Wingspan Special Edition is for you. This physical copy will come bundled with not only the base game but also the European Expansion, Oceania Expansion, and the Seasonal Decorative Pack.
What do you think of Windspan? Do you like birds, or do you not entirely trust these descendants of dinosaurs, who always seem to be watching and waiting? Let us know in the comments section below.

The board game is adorable with a good amount of strategy without being too complex. Perfect to play with the family with older children, I'd say 8 years old minimum.
The art is really beautiful too.
Looks cool. I’ll probably buy it if they make an Asian expansion
@Kyushutrail Asian birds have the nicest . . . feathers.
This actually sounds really unique and interesting.
Kinda sounds cool. Perfect laidback trophy game.
There are way better board games and card games that could use a PS5 release like Dominion, Terraforming Mars, Scythe, & Love Letter. But maybe if this game is successful it can page the way. I know many people who enjoy it and it is fairly popular- it was actually developed in my city.
Was about to get this on Switch. Not sure this has tempted me not to, I'd still rather have it portable if I wanted.
Looks interesting. Between Balatro and Inscryption I have been playing a lot of card games on PS5 recently. Working on the Plat for Inscryption (not even going to try with Balatro) and then maybe I will pick this up!
I have the Switch version. It's a great game to chill with. It appeared to be quite complex to me at first, but doesn't take too long to pick up. The CPU quite tough, even on the lower difficulties, but the game always remains fun. I'd definitely recommend if you like both table-top games and birds.
