Capcom is continuing to do extraordinarily well, with Resident Evil Village now surpassing 10 million units sold. The number, accurate as of 31st March, accounts for all platforms – including PS5 and PS4. The title first released on 7th May, 2021 and was updated with PSVR2 support upon the launch of Sony’s headset.
According to a press release, it’s the fastest title in the franchise to achieve 10 million sales, and it’s the third entry to achieve the milestone, after Resident Evil 7 Biohazard and Resident Evil 2 (the remake, not the PS1 original). The series as a whole, which first debuted in 1996, has racked up 157 million units to date, making it one of the best-selling brands in the industry.

Well deserved. That game creeped me out and got me hooked from start to finish.
A phenomenal PSVR2 game (albeit not as good as Resi 4 in my opinion, and no trophies). Not too keen on flat mode resi these days though.
it was a great game until the last third and Heisenberg showed up then it went off the rails resident evil 6 territory bad
Didn't like it too much. Started strong but it kinda just became a "going through the motions" game. Felt the same about RE4 remake despite liking it.
I only played the demo and i thought it was quite fun although it feels a bit more action than RE 7.
But congrats to Capcom. They've been on the roll since they used RE Engine and released RE 7 back in 2017. Capcom probably my most favorite publishers / devs right now :3
@get2sammyb Hey Sammy, you should make an article about Capcom Super Election results. There's plenty of interesting info from that survey like a lot of people voted for a new Dino Crisis, Darkstalkers, Breath of Fire, etc.
Well done and hats off to Capcom.

I can’t say I had any issues with the knife. I barely bothered with parrying though. Didn’t seem much point. Dropping stuff and having it instantly reattach seemed like a bit of a crutch, but a nice option.
RE4original + RE5 + RE6 + RE8village = watered down horror
Well deserved, certainly my favorite RE game with RE2RE being second.
A great entry in the series that I throughly enjoyed, the first half of the game is amazing, a bit of a shame it doesn't quite maintain that throughout but still great fun overall with good replayability.
Probably in my top 5 overall behind the likes of RE1 Remake, RE2 and RE7
I bought this on sale the other day and am absolutely loving it. Only recently got past the first boss though so still time before I can definitely say I love it
@NeonPizza
Makes sense, you’ll need to full back on crutches like that when there is no one to one motion. I haven’t played a flat resi for many years, and never played 4 flat before, so I wouldn’t know how important it is in flat mode, but in VR movement and aim is perfect. I only parried in one particular boss fight.
Its between this and RE2R as my favourite RE game. Capcom are on fire.
So was it horror or horny that made this game sell 🤔
One of my favorites in the series and still in my 5 games of this gen.
At least one of those 10 million was solely because of PSVR2 support.
