Original Article: Sony has revealed Concord isn't the only PS5 title it is rewarding with a special limited edition DualSense controller: now Astro Bot is getting one too. The PS5 pad uses a white base and then complements the hand grips with a royal blue colour and then the buttons and D-Pad with a lighter shade. What stands out the most are Astro Bot's two blue eyes built into the controller's Touch Pad; they seem to be built into the pad itself, so they'll be there even when it's turned off.
The PS5 Astro Bot controller will be available for pre-order from 9th August 2024 and launches on the same day as the game: 6th September. Available in "limited quantities", the pad will cost £69.99 / $79.99 / €79.99. It'll be available to pre-order from PlayStation Direct and select retailers in the USA, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Portugal.
"We know many of you were hoping for this after seeing the game trailer. So, we quickly asked our lovely bots to engineer this beauty and tada! No, no, I’m just kidding; it had been in the making for some time, carefully crafted by the amazing teams at SIE. And what splendid work they did," said studio head Nicolas Doucet.
He continues: "The controller’s design features Astro’s signature blue accents on the handles and buttons, carved-in, sci-fi lines as well as the trademark playful pair of eyes on the touch pad. It is a true work of art, and we could not be happier with the end-result at Team Asobi."
