EA Sports will lift the curtain on EA Sports FC 25 this week. The reveal is happening via a trailer on YouTube, which airs on the 17th July at 5pm BST / 6pm CEST / 12pm EDT / 9am PDT.
And, as has been rumoured, Jude Bellingham's going to be the cover star — although he's joined by a selection of familiar faces on the front of FC 25's Ultimate Edition. The group includes Gianluigi Buffon, Aitana Bonmatí Conca, David Beckham, and Zinedine Zidane. Not a bad five-a-side team, that.
As is usually the case, we doubt that this reveal trailer will tell us much about the additions and adjustments of FC 25. EA Sports typically drops more in-depth information as it builds up towards the game's launch. This year's instalment is heavily rumoured to be releasing in late September, so this reveal gives the publisher a good couple of months to drum up some hype.

Makes sense. Star power and was the best player of last season. Although really should be John McGinn. After all, Scotland are the most recent team to have beaten Spain 😂
I'm just glad Southgates terrorball has lost and football lives to see another day.
He should be trialed in the Hague
Having bought the last 4 versions (FIFA 21, 22, 23 and EA Sports FC 24) I might sit this one out.
As much as I enjoy them, I don't feel there's enough of an upgrade year on year for me to justify spending another £70 on it.
I'm thinking if I skip a year then I may notice a bit more of a difference for the 2026 version.
Oh who am I kidding, I know I'll end up buying it it!!!
Another overrated player stealing the cover lmao, bring back the days of FIFA covers going to amazing players
@DonJorginho You're not allowed to post this without telling everyone who you'd have on the cover!
Yes, cannot wait to see what tweaks they make to the algorithm.
When will we actually see a real football game on a game console? It's 2024 and we are literally playing the same crappy algorithms from the first football games - just looking prettier.
As if people play this rubbish professionally... although I guess it's no different to a fighting game. Press the buttons in the exact right order for the same results everytime.
@nocdaes I really dislike how fake the power shots feel in FIFA. The new crap PES isn’t good but the power shots in that game feel like physics play a part. Rocket League has better off the ball gameplay than FIFA.
@DonJorginho Jack Wilshere was on the cover of FIFA 12.
@DonJorginho Bellingham “overrated”? He was voted La Liga player of the season, scored 23 goals and 13 assists in his first season for Madrid. If that’s overrated I’d love to know what isn’t.
@Member_the_game I have historically bought every fifa day one since 2010 but I held out till Christmas for this one. I got it much cheaper and didn’t feel like I missed out too much even though I exclusively play ultimate team. I played it solidly till about March and barely touched it since though so I might also give this one a miss or wait till the inevitable PS plus drop.
@GeeEssEff
Historically I've always tended to alternate between buying FIFA one year then Pro Evolution the other, that way it at least felt like I was getting a different game each time.
Obviously Konami have ruined that method for me haha.
I'm hoping the rumoured new 2K football game turns out to be real then at least I've got some options again
@ShogunRok COLD PALMER 😉
@themightyant he plays more like a target man for Real, and outside of one moment against Slovakia he was quite poor for England imo.
@nessisonett that was a trio cover tho and he wasn’t alongside “legends”, those days were like general premier league players so made sense, if you had Bellingham, Mbappe and maybe Foden as the cover stars in a trio I’d be happier with it.
Bellingham as a cover star alongside legends of the game though is a bit much for me.
@DonJorginho Palmer’s class! But it’s probably a bit early, if he can keep the form up he’s in with a good shout next season. Personally would have gone with Vinicius Junior.
Not sure I’d fully agree with your assessment on Bellingham, I thought he was one of Englands better players overall. But that’s not saying too much, no one really stood out who played a lot, they all had bad games. England were fortunate to get to the final.
@themightyant for England I thought Mainoo was pretty stellar despite a lack of consistent game time.
Should be Messi on the cover. As for the game itself, I played Fifa 22, 23 and FC24- I still think PES 21 (especially with mods on PC) is way better. Too bad Konami killed this franchise 🙁
@themightyant was only joking from my Chelsea bias haha, I would also go Vini! Bellingham is a mighty fine player but still needs a few more years of proving his worth to be on the “legends cover” for me personally!
@themightyant in terms of England I’d say the best performers were Mainoo, Guehi, Pickford and Palmer off the bench, Stones also did well in the last few games.
Attack wasn’t flowing like I wanted but I put that down to tactical issues with Gareth and his system.
Jude is a great player but I sometimes fear he’s a bit too hot headed, multiple times in that final he let his frustration get in the way of good attacking plays.
What exactly is the point of these?... (the same applies to the Champions Edition of F1 games).
EA only release the standard editions at retail, so these 'covers' are entirely pointless marketing material.
I remember the days when they'd release club specific FIFA covers to download and print.
@DonJorginho @Cherip-the-Ripper I probably agree Mainoo, Guehi, Pickford and Palmer were the highlights. Though two of them mostly played off the bench. Everyone else had bad games I just thought Bellingham was one of the marginally better ones of those. Foden and Kane were my biggest disappointments, despite Kane being joint Golden Boot, he just wasn't in too many games.
Hoping for an interim manager while them sign Klopp for Winter/25.
If we're looking for a trio of cover stars: Vladimir Smicer, Djimi Traore and Igor Biscan!
@Member_the_game I wish Pes continued to be solid so FIFA actually had some competition but it just completely dropped off after 2008. I will always have a special place in my heart for Roberto Larcos and West Midlands Village though. Fingers crossed you are right and 2K do something special!
Jude Bellingham? Wonder if the game will go for realism and have him spend most the game on the ground and the rest moaning?
@Member_the_game
You are a good example of why EA knows they can get away with releasing the game yearly.
They know it will sell like hotcakes regardless of quality
@Netret0120
Only because of the lack of competition
I'd there was an alternative I'd happily mix things up a bit
This might be the year that I just don't bother with it. I really hope it is, too. Too many other games I want to play to be wasting any time on this sh** and I only play one game mode anyway 😭
But, as others have said. We say these things every year and keep buying it 💀
@rusty82
If we're going for true accuracy, let's have the Spanish team throwing themselves to the ground and wasting time in the last minutes of the game
Totallynotbitternotmenosir
I don't think he's earned it. Looking at his behavior and skill during the Euros it is quite clear that he had Foden-itis where the strength of the team makes the look better than they are.
Or, I'm just really pissed Southgate bottled it and all of these guys go out of their way to protect him.
Bonmati is absolute class. Nice choice.
@ThatSneakman better team won mate. 7 wins out of 7. They played better without Rodri too. Hats off to them
@rusty82 Nah I knew we had slim chances at winning, I just wish they were more graceful about it
@rusty82 isn't that all footballers? Such a dirty game i can't stand when they pretend to be injured and then you'll see the slowed replay and they've barely been touched, these guys wouldn't survive in the NHL
