Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail developer HoYoverse’s next big thing, the uber-stylish urban fantasy RPG Zenless Zone Zero, is playable for free on PS5 right now. The game, which weighs in at a little under 50GB, sees you assume the role of a so-called Proxy, as you deploy a colourful cast of collectible Agents into Hollows to investigate all sorts of aggressive threats.
HoYoverse is promising over 100 free gacha pulls at launch, which should be enough to unlock an S-tier character or two – although you will need to progress through the game and pay attention to active codes to get the most out of your experience. We’re in the preliminary stages of compiling a Zenless Zone Zero guide, so keep your eyes peeled for that as we make our way through the game and add more information.
In the meantime, you can check out a launch trailer embedded above. Will you be giving the game a go on your PS5? Pray to the gacha gods in the comments section below.

Not had chance to play as much as I'd have liked yet, but loving it so far!
Tried signing up for the beta, but got ignored. Looking forward to playing this after work today!
Downloading it right now.
I've been playing it for several hours and I really enjoy it. From the combat, visuals, and the vibe. I think I'll be getting the battle pass and monthly for sure. I'm glad I have another hoyoverse gacha to add to my list since I really only got into HSR and ZZZ (dropped Genshin and HI3rd a long time ago).
Art looks cute but idk if I’d enjoy F2P stuff.
Can't wait to try this been waiting since the first trailer. Will download this after work, not much to do in HSR just waiting for Jade.
just started First descendent so might have to wait till my 3 days off next week to to really play this.
I'd like to have more games that look like this, that aren't gacha. Gacha ruins the progression in Genshin which has put me off this game as a service model.
@AndyKazama Counter-point: Genshin wouldn’t have grown anywhere near to the scale it is without being gacha.
@get2sammyb probably not. It just means unfortunately (for me), there'll be a ton of games I won't play as I don't like this progression model.
And it's a shame in the respect that aesthetically these games look beautiful with excellent character design.
@get2sammyb same here, particularly loving the music and atmosphere, controls feel reliably tight - also noted that the PS5 controller haptic feedback is exceptionally good!
I only played a few minutes of ginseng impact, I downloaded but never played honky rail star so even though I think I’d like to play zucchini zero zune I probably never will.
Probably going to stick with The First Descendant for now.
@AndyKazama what do you mean by progression model? You can clear all content in Genshin, Honkai Star Rail and ZZZ using free characters + you get a ton of pulls every patch for more limited characters.
Genshi was good! Honkai Star Rail is awesome! So I'm very excited for ZZZ
After playing the game for a couple hours ZZZ seems like an interesting mix of Persona, arena action games like (a very simplified devil may cry) and there's even some Splatoon vibes here and there. Honestly I just love the world more than anything and the characters are already pretty likeable. I can see myself sticking with this to see where the story goes and since it's not another huge open world game I feel like I can play it comfortably with Honkai.
ZZZ feels like a cross between Persona and Genshin in a good way. The story also seems a bit more straight forward. The controls are very good and the art style is great. This might be the Hoyo game that clicks for me.
I often get this confused with Project Mugen.
It’s fun, but I’m more of just trying it, imma just play until the typical gacha difficulty spike hits. I don’t stick in the long run with gacha games.
!00%
Buuuut not until I've tidied away the Dawntrail MSQ and a fair few other bits and bobs in FFXIV, but it is next up on the docket.
I played this for a couple of hrs yesterday but I'm still on the fence. Wuthering Waves is still more fun to play so far. It's between those 2 for which I will keep playing. Seeing as there's star rail and first descendant on my daily plays.
@Yousef- There's an easy way to find out.
