A fully playable development build of the eagerly anticipated Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has emerged online, well ahead of the game's 9th September release date. It's a recent build, from about a month before the game went gold, which was just "randomly posted on a tracker". Unusually, it includes server binaries, meaning people have already managed to get multiplayer working.
That's according to the eagle-eyed Insider Gaming, whose investigation determined that the build originated on 20th June 2024. The outlet has reached out to publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive for comment on the situation, and we imagine a statement will be forthcoming if the breach is as catastrophic as it seems.
We'll not link directly to the heretical files here, for the traitor dies many deaths (with faithlessness being but the first). Still, plenty of gameplay is surfacing online, so we'd recommend armouring yourself in purest faith against the spoilers out there.
