The full soundtracks for Digital Devil Saga and Digital Devil Saga 2 are now on music streaming services like Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, and YouTube Music. Both games are collected under one album called Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 1&2 Original Soundtrack, which spans 139 songs. Search for that or simply 'Digital Devil Saga' and you should find it.
If the headline didn't already give it away, we're big fans of Digital Devil Saga's soundscape. Both titles feature some fantastic tunes, which range from haunting background music to intense battle themes. We'd highly recommend giving tracks like 'Sahasrara', the various versions of 'Hunting', 'Big Battle', 'Hari-Hara', 'ALIVE', 'Battle for Survival', 'Heroic Battle', 'Epic Battle', and 'Brahman' a listen if you want to get straight to the core of what makes Digital Devil Saga tick.
The soundtracks were composed by Shoji Meguro and Kenichi Tsuchiya. Meguro would go on to create the iconic soundtracks of Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5 — and you can definitely hear some of that Persona DNA across this album. In particular, the tone of the guitars is trademark Meguro.
The first Digital Devil Saga released all the way back in 2004, and its sequel followed in 2005. They're turn-based RPGs with a post-apocalyptic setting, and they boast some really interesting ideas when it comes to world building and characters. If we're lucky, Atlus will decide to remaster them someday...

Awh man, I saw the picture and thought we were getting remakes
DDS 1 & 2 are interesting. They combine Nocturne's Press-Turn combat with a more conventional JRPG structure (no monster collecting here) and a science-fiction story that explores several familiar MegaTen themes from a more Hinduist perspective, which radically transforms the feel of the games.
I'd love to see these and the Raidou Kuzunoha games rescued from the obscurity that comes from still being PS2 exclusives.
Anyway, the first game is full of guitar music inspired by classic rock, so it's definitely worth checking out.
@MickOnYourFace I loved these games back in the day. But I tried to replay them recently on Steam Deck and they didn’t hold up well. Would need a lot more than a remaster imo
PS4/PS5 remasters or remakes or even PS2 classic re-releases would be great.
When I looked the other year both games are quite pricey now.
We absolutely need a way to play these on modern consoles. Sometimes I'm really in the mood for the Shin Megami universe, but not awake enough to be strategising about fusions and demon collecting. Just plain, old-fashioned skill-tree goodness.
Ohh yeah... must finish it someday... have both on PS2
Still waiting for this to be ported on modern consoles. C'mon SEGA/Atlus!
It's an awesome series with an awesome soundtrack, I'll say it every time I see it.
