A new physics upgrade to Gran Turismo 7, available now alongside a raft of new content, is causing some unexpected in-game behaviour. The issue – which appears to be triggered by suspension settings – is causing cars to fly into the sky from the starting line. You might call it a bug, but to us this looks more like a feature.
Have a peep for yourself:
Of course, we understand that the PS5 and PS4 sim racer sells on its authenticity, and there’s nothing particularly realistic about this. “This issue is currently under investigation,” a spokesperson for the studio wrote on the series’ official X (or Twitter) account. “We apologise for any inconvenience this may be causing.”
We suspect the solution will be fast-tracked through Sony’s update approval process, so we can’t imagine this bug sticking around for long. Make the most of it while you can!

That's hilarious. Looks like a commercial for a car. Wasn't there one everyone liked with giant gum drops or something.
Keep it! Games used to have this sorta stuff in a cheat menu, give us Big Head mode with the drivers helmets poking out the roof too.
Keep it as a cheat, too funny lol! Or well, in PSVR2, it will be funny as long as it does not happen with your own car in that case it would be puke inducing lol.
Trackmania could never.
If someone know the exact suspension settings needed to trigger this I can test this for science, if they don't patch this before.
This is the best thing I've ever seen. £100 says Turn 10 puts this in the next Forza Motorsport update.
“Take a sip of the potion, hit the three wheel motion” taken too far
When you fill the airbags with helium.
Seems like the beta test for the GT7 Twisters expansion is looking good. We just need some flying cows next and we are golden!
The new physics have ballsed up the game for me. Way too much under steer on the cars. Driving the audi I've been using and it's really difficult to keep it on the track. I don't know why they did this and they should revert it back to how it was.
@Northern_munkey I thought the same when I tried it this morning - cars and tracks I know well just completely not making the corners now
@MatthewJP I was flying round in my audi and I was really loving it..this update just sucked all the fun out of it. I like the challenge but this is ridiculous.
@Northern_munkey So if I haven’t finished the gold licenses by now I should just not go back 🤣
@IamJT I'm just going to have to learn how to drive again. I was watching a YouTube video earlier because I thought maybe it was just me being..well..really crap but the guy testing out the new update is the world's number 1 gt7 player and he was struggling as well. Its not impossible but it is certainly more frustrating.
@Northern_munkey Do you have any assists on? I play iRacing as my main sim and the new update to GT7 has made it feel closer to iRacing, which has actually made it slightly easier for me because my braking and shifting is now closer to iRacing to take similar corners.
@WhensDinner no assists on except abs which is on default. Using a T150 steering wheel which is pretty damn good for the price but I am upgrading to the top tier thrustmaster gt2 rig soon. I was going to go with fanatec but they seem to be having some serious issues and I've read some right old horror story's about how long it takes to arrive..if ever..so I'll stick with the reliable brand even though I wanted direct drive..
@WhensDinner
I'm not joking. I was struggling to complete Autopolis circuit experience this week. It took me over an hour to achieve gold on the full lap, and when I eventually did I was only inside by a couple of thousands of a second. Today I went back with the new physics and on my first lap I was nearly 2 seconds faster than the time I did a couple of days ago. I'm also 6th in the world in the top 10 stars on that circuit now. I won't be there for long though 😊.
@Northern_munkey
I've ordered from Fanatec a couple of times and it takes about 2 weeks to arrive. The last time was earlier this year. If you make sure the item is in stock you'll have no issues. A lot of the bad press is not deserved. Fanatec have dragged SIM racing forward. I went from G29 to a GT DD pro 8nm and I've never looked back.
Players have been doing that for years of working out the suspension and a few other key settings, the Escudo on Seattle to get through walls, flying at high speeds (or on Test Course) in GT3, I think overengineering the Merc 1886 cart/car as well, similar in later entries with other cars.
It's nothing new. The fact they are finding it now says a lot.
@tinCAT-zero 👍
This “function” should be available on Day 0, add rocket booster, flamethrower , missile launcher, gliding wing, James Bond style vehicle… etc, add real world circuit,
GT+Mario Kart+PUBG😆😆
Burnout Paradise mode.
Fond memories.
