In news that could have a tangible effect on the upcoming presidential aspirations of current U.S. Vice President and presumptive Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, a link between the politician and the shadowy governmental organisation known as the Federal Bureau of Control has resurfaced.

Discovered when Remedy Entertainment released Control in 2019, politically minded players quickly pointed out the striking resemblance between Harris and a missing FBC employee known as Jane Farland (thanks, Eurogamer). In-game, a picture of the missing 40-year-old Farland is visible in The Oldest House, and with the electoral spotlight on Harris, the spooky "coincidence" has again caused a stir.

Independent journalist Stephen Totilo tackled the subject for Game File, his industry newsletter. He whipped up the comparison below and confirmed the location of the eerie image (on a whiteboard near an elevator in the Central Executive hub). So far, the reporter's attempts to get a comment from Remedy have been met with stony, predictable silence, possibly on the order of the Biden administration.

Eurogamer's Matt Wales posits that the image is likely a slightly altered picture of Harris from her tenure as a US senator, which is most likely in the public domain and, therefore, fair game. We don't know how things would go if the character of Farland reappeared in Control 2, especially with the possibility of Harris as president then. Still, we'll keep an eye on this situation for any developments.
