Classically-styled 2D fighter Blazing Strike finally has a release date. The Street Fighter-inspired title's been floating around for years, but we've now got confirmation that it's launching in just a few months, on the 17th October. It's coming to both PS5 and PS4.
Sporting some lovely sprite work along with an eye-catching cast of characters, Blazing Strike has certainly looked the part ever since it was first announced. Its four-button gameplay has been described as accessible but with plenty of depth for those who go looking for it, while all of your usual modes will be present at launch. That includes Story, Arcade, Versus, Training, and online matches.
Are you looking forward to the arrival of Blazing Strike? Hurry up and pick a main in the comments section below.

This game looks fun. But the problem with very niche fighting games like this is the lack of players. I would buy it but why waste my money when i already know the game will be a ghost town in less than a month.
@PuppetMaster couldn’t agree more. I’ve built a particular attachment to my favorite fighter ever because of that downside, and it’s why I have a harder time justifying purchasing FGs that I do not know anyone in my circles that can play regularly.
What's "Super promising" about it?
I was looking firward to it at some point but has it always had that juddering effect on impact?
All depends on what price point they are going for, which will dictate whethdr I buy it day 1 or not
@PuppetMaster imo i think we need more FGs like mortal kombat; almost all of them right now are hyper anime fighters or cartoon . it would be cool for devs to do a fresh take on the genre , more 2D realism but not entirely realistic .
Wonderful. Looks like it has some vibrant backgrounds too!
Fighting games with this kind of sprite work look soooo amazing.
And we are getting all the Capcom vs SF and Marvel 2D fighters in a package soon too!!!
Joy Overload!!!
@nomither6 You mean 2D realistic that use digitized live actors and mocap like classic MK 1-3? If yes, we got plenty of those back then like Pit-Fighter, SF The Movie, Kung-Fu Master Jackie Chan, Way of the Warriors etc.
@PuppetMaster nah, not that realistic. just something like mkx/mk11 graphics-wise, and besides, werent all those games bad anyway besides mk? lol
