Perhaps the biggest criticism that’s been aimed at TopSpin 2K25, apart from perhaps its microtransactions, is that it has a very limited selection of licensed players. Tiebreak: Official Game of the ATP and WTA believes it has an advantage in that department, with over 120 professional players included in its roster.

As the title indicates, this has the official ATP and WTA licenses, so while it’s missing the major Grand Slams, it has all of the smaller tournaments that make up the rest of the tennis calendar. That includes the ATP and WTA Finals, which take place at the end of the year. You can also create your own stadiums and players if you want to, so you can expand upon what’s in the base game.

Other features include a dedicated Novak Djokovic mode, which will see you play out key moments from his career.

It sounds like there’s a lot of content on offer here, but we’re still not convinced by the gameplay. While it certainly doesn’t look bad by any stretch of the imagination, tennis is a difficult sport to animate, and despite the promise of different playstyles and tactics, we can’t help but feel the players look a little robotic when they move here.
