Borderlands 4 Announced, Coming to PS5 in 2025

Hope its more similar to Borderlands 2 than 3

I really, really want to like Borderlands. I love the art style and gameplay, but the writing annoys me to no end. We'll see what #4 offers!

I enjoyed the first 2 Borderlands games and was really excited about the 3rd one. After playing it, I didn't like the vault hunters as much as the previous games, story was forgettable, and the villains were awful. I hope it gets back to its root a bit but I'll be keeping a hesitant eye on further updates.

I hope it's based on the film.

3 was absolute cringefest, i expect nothing.

I'm a fan of the Borderlands series, so my hopes are that BL4 takes some of the best from the previous games and adds some good new stuff. It could be interesting to have the story be prior to Borderlands 1.

Anyway 2025 is starting to look good with BL4 and GTAVI scheduled for release. Please Mafia 4 also.

After the success and critical acclaim of the film, this will be the highest selling entry of the franchise so far....yeah, right!

After the borderlands film I’ve lost hope for the series

Borderlands was a great coop shooter back on PS3 I had fun with friends playing it but Borderlands 2 it's story and characters especially Handsome Jack was brilliant. I own 3 but when it was announced I just didn't like the looks of the characters at all and never got round to playing I don't have the urge to play it at all

I can't wait to see how garbage the writing will be this time, especially after the film being the worst one ever written.

@themightyant They genuinely can't, Alien Colonial Marines, Battleborn, Duke Nukem Forever, were all failures. I know those are super old but it's not surprising that they are playing it extremely safe here.

Nah. Life is too short and there are too many important things to do to get interested on mediocre burnt out franchises. Especially after that Hollywood abomination, who thought this was a good time to get the hype train started for Borderlands 4?

Announcing Borderlands 4 as the movie has crashed and burned inside of a week while the Deadpool and Wolverine movie is the highest grossing R rated movie of all time but no mention of the upcoming Wolverine game perfectly sums up this show. 🤪

If it has the same writers as 3 than forget it!

I'm not hopeful. It'll be interesting to see if lessons were learned from the mixed reception that the third game got.

At least the movie's reception wasn't mixed, we can say that much

1 was decent, 2 was good, pre sequel was decent, 3 was mehhh. Boring story with barely any interesting points, some decent level design but very annoying characters. I had to play with voices set to zero cause the two antagonists were so utterly annoying. Then I played Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and realised the story could be even more boring than 3. But with the gameplay being rather bland too. So... Yeah. If they had the BL2 team on this maybe it could be decent. But lets face it, given their last two games it's gonna be a turd.

The ray tracing in that trailer is so good that I don't know what I'm looking at 😂

If I may be nitpicky, the fact that the player plays as more vault hunters finding gold is such a played out trope in the series.
Tiny Tina did something different with the story, which was nice, but this game going back to the same premise is kinda eh.

Loved all the games but 3 and Wonderlands dip a lot, so they need to do something to improve it and not just more of the same (which I’d be happy with but still)

Or just bring back the Handsome One!

One of my favorite series, but BL3 let me down a little here and there. The endgame in particular just didn't really keep me invested and the DLCs, compared to the other games were just a bit lackluster.

I think BL3 made some nice QoL changes that hopefully they keep and then improve further on. Hopefully they'll find a perfect formula this time.

The gameplay in borderland is pretty good, I just hope they'll have good writers too. Or if not, just make the game with less story.
