This is a cool idea: Copa City is an upcoming tycoon title due out on PS5 in 2025 where you’re in charge of everything that unfolds off the pitch. You’ll need to make decisions relating to security, facilities, and transport to ensure fans can get to and from the game safely, without any obstacle or obstruction. You may want to station some police to stop those shirtless hooligans, for example.
This trailer confirms that the real-life Olympiastadion in Berlin will be included in the game, alongside Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Flamengo. Other licensed content includes Warsaw’s PGE Narodowy, with more teams and locations to be announced closer to launch. Obviously, licensed content isn’t necessarily required to make a title like this work, but we’re not going to complain about its inclusion.
Our only worry with this game is where the sense of progress and variety will come from. It looks like the tycoon aspect will apply to a single game day, so once the match has concluded, you’ll basically be starting over for the next one. It doesn’t sound like there’ll be quite the same reward loop as other tycoon games, where you’re making money and improving your facilities.
It’s an interesting idea, then, but we’ll need to see how it’s actually structured to better understand the longevity and replay value.

Would give it a try on PS Plus, sounds novel enough
Ironically, this being a football ownership sim, there's a massive difference in how clubs are owned and fans are treated in Germany. This sim will not be representative as fans are heavily involved in club ownership there and they are not subject to being price-gouged for tickets and merch like they are in the Prem, for example.
Nothing demonstrated that better than when Bayern Munich and Borrusia Dortmond refused to join the breakaway European Super League that greedy Prem clubs (including Tottenham who have won nothing in Europe since 1984!) tried to instigate, essentially sticking two fingers up at history, community and the fans . I wonder if this game will sell in Germany.
My dad was in the n40 lol
@Mikey856 what a coincidence. Early on I was on the M40.
@riceNpea Inbetween that n & m is a whole lot of difference 😂
@Mikey856 not that much, just the M6 and then the M42 😊
Bizarre. Not entirely sold on how fun this will be.
I'd really like a complete remake of hooligans:storm over Europe. I have the pc game in a box in the loft somewhere. I might dig it out and install it on my laptop.
@riceNpea Don't think you can blame Tottenham. It was essentially sign up, or risk the super league going ahead and getting left behind. Maybe they should have seen it was destined to fail, but they were looking after their own interests, the same as everyone else does in football
I'm definitely intrigued with this unique take.
That is also my worry, that the loop of the gameplay will be the same, each time.
But I'm gonna give it ago. It's getting quite a big push, really.
Ai generated box art looks like
