Radical Fish Games, the team behind the excellent CrossCode, has revealed its next title, Alabaster Dawn, which looks to be as chock-full of incredible combat and acerbic wit. But where its previous game expertly converted the MMO experience into a single-player narrative, its next looks like a more traditional RPG adventure, and we got the reveal trailer.
This one's still quite a ways out, expected to launch into Steam's Early Access in 2025, but Radical Fish says a new engine and code base means that console players won't have to wait so long for ports this time around (thanks, RPGSite). With deep, combo-based combat and some truly wonderful pixel work, we'll be watching the progress of this one with eager interest.

Can’t wait for this one. I’m there for it day one. Crosscode was a flawed classic and I’d love to see what they learned from it. If they could tone down the difficulty a bit on those puzzles and improve what Crosscode already did so well, we’ll have a surprise-to-most GotY contender
I tried so hard to like Cross Code.
I just couldn't do it like 10-15hrs in. I wanted to like that game.
Looks promising. Hope one day they remake the Crosscode
I have no prior knowledge of Crosscode not this developer, but I am intrigued. Looks like Sea of Stars' meets Hades.
Nice!
Crosscode was excellent so can’t wait for this.
Loved CrossCode, just really clicked with me. That soundtrack too! I heard tracks from it on Spotify on a daily basis. I really want to find the time to replay it. Look forward to see this new game
@Jacko11 amen
Looks and sounds great. I still need to play CrossCode too.
@somnambulance What would you consider the flaws of CrossCode to be? (Genuinely curious, no shade!)
I love CrossCode and consider it a top 5 game of the previous decade. Unparalleled gameplay, writing, and art/music for games of this kind.
@Fazermint The puzzles got tedious towards the end. Don’t get me wrong: they were well designed and creative, but they were also meticulous to the point of being frustrating. The combat, however, is exquisite. Fine dining for the action rpg connoisseur. The story and characters are also strong. I frankly loved the game… until the puzzles got too much
Boy do they like using camera shake...
