Believe it or not, the original Goat Simulator turns 10 years old this year. Following oodles of DLC and a full-blown sequel — the confusingly named Goat Simulator 3 — the first game is making a comeback on PS5. Goat Simulator Remastered has just been announced, and it's due to release sometime in 2024.

The announcement comes via a suitably silly trailer, which you can watch above. Someone official is led through Cash Grab Penitentiary's Remaster Ward, and as they make their way to the high-security area where Pilgor is being held, they pass by various nods to other games, including Skyrim (on its way to the Re-Release Ward) and GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition, locked up because of its heavy-handed rain effect. It's pretty good.

Anyway, Goat Simulator Remastered revamps the original game on PS5 with enhanced visuals and lighting, better textures, and "brand new foliage". The remaster also brings together the base game and all its DLC packs, including one previously exclusive to mobile, making this the definitive version of Goat Simulator.

Additionally, mutators have been reworked. While you'll still need to cause as much mayhem as possible to unlock everything, you'll now be able to choose from the various "goats" you unlock whenever you want, rather than having to back out of the game each time.

There's no firm date yet, but it's due for release later this year. Are you interested in Goat Simulator Remastered? Headbutt the comments section below.
