Glover wasn’t the best 3D platformer on a system that was home to several all-timers in the genre, but it was memorable for its four-fingered hero. The game – which is coming to PS5 and PS4 courtesy of Brazilian IP hoarder QUByte – will be available to pre-order physically on PS5 from Limited Run Games, starting tomorrow, 13th August. Interestingly, if you want a physical PS4 copy, you’ll have to order one of those from Physical Mania.
The game will cost $34.99, and will feature the full original campaign, which spans 30 levels and six worlds. The outing was developed by Interactive Studios and launched first as a timed console exclusive on PC and N64 in 1998, before eventually being ported to the PS1 a year later. That PlayStation version was largely panned, and this re-release will be based on the technically superior Nintendo edition.
The gameplay in Glover is actually really interesting, because your objective is to guide a ball to the end of each stage using the eponymous hand. To do this, you can roll, bounce, slap, and dribble the ball, which makes for some fun – albeit frustrating – platforming possibilities. Overall, it’s a really interesting gameplay concept, and it speaks to a time when titles were a little more experimental due to smaller overall budgets and shorter development cycles.

Right Sucker Punch needs to bring Rocket: Robot on Wheels out now, balls in their court
I’m all for these rereleases of older games, but it strikes me as odd that the game costs more than the Piko 4 Evercade cart that features Glover along with nine other games.
@Amnesiac That's a very good shout!
Can’t believe what happened to Glover after he was shoved between the sofa cushions by a vice presidential candidate. Shocking, truly shocking.
I actually have an N64 cart for Glover I bought on eBay like 10 years ago for $5. Never did get around to playing it though lol
Will there be a digital release too?
This is extortion, and I'm seeing this more often, getting old retro games porting them over to current gen and slapping a retail price on them, are they any different than eBay and scalpers who extort game collectors for 5x the price for the same games? This is getting out of hand smh
@Amnesiac more than the original cart even, I'm shaking and scratching my head how anyone would buy this?
This was a "Damn...Mario 64 and Banjo are already rented out" choice for me more than a cult classic.
Pretty cool seeing this come back foe PS5.
Finally the 1 room in my house dedicated to glover gets more to add to it.
(If you get that reference you are cultured)
I remember really looking forward to this. Buying it and finding it annoying lol
