With The Legend of Zelda veteran Kentaro Tominaga at the helm, fashion fantasy gacha game Infinity Nikki is looking to bring something a little different to the PS5 – as this trailer attests. A new trailer debuted during Gamescom Opening Night Live, confirming pre-registration is available on mobile, with a closed beta set to precede its official release.
“Embark on a fantastical journey across the vibrant and expansive nations of Miraland as the courageous stylist Nikki and her fearless feline companion Momo,” the press blurb reads. “Sink into an immersive world with boundless opportunities, including cozy open-world exploration, fun platforming, puzzle-solving, gorgeous style possibilities, and much more.”
Different costumes will unlock unique gameplay opportunities, like the Floating Outfit which will enable you to jump and climb – or the Shrinking Outfit which will magically transform your size. “Commune with playful creatures and create specific outfits to fish in the river, catch bugs in the fields, and travel between lands,” the blurb continues. “Uncover every magical secret Miraland has to offer and use Momo’s camera to capture every heart-warming moment along the way.”
While this is the first console instalment, Nikki is actually a long-running mobile franchise that’s attracted over 100 million downloads over the years. This is the most mechanically dense edition of the series yet, however – and considering it’s being built as a live service, you can expect the introduction of new clothing and environments to significantly expand the scale of the experience beyond launch.

I'll join the beta. Looks different enough from the usual stuff I play
yes.
Also ngl, news to me this isn't current gen exclusive since I've been eyeing this one since first debut.
I didn’t realise it was a live action gatcha game, bit of a turn-off but if there’s plenty to do without spending more than a regular game it could be lovely!
I just don't know
Looks great a Sissy-em-up.
Somehow we live in a world where I'm more hyped by this than a new Indiana Jones game
