Helldivers 2 has been reigning supreme as the USA's top-selling game of 2024, but just like that, it's now playing second fiddle. EA Sports College Football 25 has trumped Sony's sci-fi co-op shooter, touching down in first place on July's software chart and now the year's best-selling title. According to analyst Mat Piscatella, the game's launch month dollar sales have more than tripled the lifetime sales of the previous biggest college football game, NCAA Football 07. It's a smash hit, basically.
Aside from that, the USA's top 20 games are broadly familiar, with one or two change-ups. Tekken 8 moves up from 30th to 14th, The Crew Motorfest moves from 37th to 19th, and Rainbow Six Siege is also up, moving from 21st to 18th.
PS5 retains its top spot in the hardware chart once again, coming number one in both units and dollar sales. Xbox Series takes second on both counts. In terms of accessories, PS Portal continues to do tremendously well for Sony, being July's best-selling accessory in terms of dollar sales. The best-selling accessory units-wise is the Midnight Black DualSense controller.

Pretty impressive that helldivers 2 held on to the top spot for so long. I think it'll be in the top 4 for the year.
I wanna see sales numbers for SP2, feel like it's crossed the 20m mark by now
Only three Nintendo titles in the top twenty Software Sales for the month. Surprising.
This should surprise no one. The game was destined to be huge. I would really love to see how many Series S consoles were pushed during this same period of time vs. PS5.
Not a surprise in the U.S. where [American] football is so popular. I suspect there’s negligible sales of the game outside the U.S.
Really impressed also with Elden Ring and Hogwart’s Legacy for their staying power. Even Spider-Man 2 continuing to chart is nice to see. Even if you don’t like the game itself, I always like seeing single player non-sports games chart in the top 10.
Not surprised it's been like 10 years since a College Football game was out.
Impressive considering that helldiver's is on pc and ps5 for like 6 months and this best it in days on PS5 and Xbox series which is smaller than PS5 and all the PC's in the US together. I hope this encourages dropping cross gen even faster.
No GTA is a shock!
@ProfessorNiggle what’s SP2?
@AhmadSumadi I think they meant Spidey 2.
@AhmadSumadi @breakneck Spider-Man 2, my bad should’ve put SM2
