Steelrising PS5 PlayStation

Yesterday, we brought you word of brewing trouble at Greedfall and Steelrising developer, Spiders. Staff have announced a strike, alleging poor working conditions at the Parisian studio. A French union helped broadcast a public letter that was signed by nearly half of the studios' almost 100 employees, and today, management at the studio has responded, strongly refuting the allegations made therein.

In a statement provided to Insider Gaming, Spiders denied the claims made in the letter, calling them "false and even defamatory", and said they do not "reflect the reality" of working for the company. It calls the allegations an "attack on the reputation of the studio, whose teams are fully mobilized to produce quality games and enthusiastically ensure the Early Access release of Greedfall 2". It was claimed in the staff letter that Greedfall 2 is currently "underwater" and that staff were beginning to burn out.

Management claims that there have been "unsuccessful attempts" to meet with a delegation of employees in previous days, but a meeting has been proposed for the end of the week. Considering the company has just publicly said that its employees' qualms and grievances are effectively lies, it remains to be seen how productive it will ultimately be.

We'll follow up on the situation and update you if a resolution is reached. In the comments section below, let us know what you think of this entire affair.
