Sniper Elite: Resistance Delves into Occupied France on PS5, PS4 Next Year

Rebellion has announced the next entry in its long-running Sniper Elite series. Sniper Elite: Resistance is its name, and it's coming to PS5 and PS4 sometime in 2025.

Interestingly, Resistance has a story that runs parallel to the events of Sniper Elite 5. Set in occupied France during WWII, you play as special operations executive Harry Hawkins as he aims to uncover a powerful new weapon that could see the Nazis win the war. The action looks to be similar to previous games; with a bent towards sniping, you'll use stealth and tactical third-person combat to complete objectives in each stage.

Resistance features the same x-ray kill cam the series has become known for, and also includes new Propaganda Missions as well as online multiplayer, Invasion, and more.

I love the Sniper Elite series so I'm looking forward to this one.

PD: Jason Kingsley, the CEO of Rebellion, has an amazing YouTube channel where he talks about medieval history. I discovered the channel before I knew who he was and I was quite surprised when I found out lol

I’m excited for this big time. Shockingly, Sniper Elite 5 was my GOTY when it came out, and I think it’s arguably one of the best stealth games ever made. I can’t wait to see what this new entry holds.

Looks like a must have for me as I have wanted more WW2 French Resistance game play after playing the Saboteur game on PS3. 2025 is starting to look like a very good year in gaming.

@Kraven I love Rebellion Studios games, but the SUPER SAFE game design has really been played out for me.
I tried to play 5, and it was just way too famiar. Bummed me out

@CallMeDuraSouka 5 was alot more open map with mission approach and while familiar kept it more interesting

I slowly marathoned the series last year and a half and I had so much fun with it. This will be the first one I play at launch!

The gameplay is just so satisfying. I guess no Karl this time though.

I've been playing the Sniper Elite games since V2 came out and the series has consistently been an absolute blast! Always improving in some way, pushing the boundaries of AA gaming. Never too fussed with realism for the sake of just being really fun. The difficulty options and new mechanics in recent titles really changed the way I play and added some more challenge. Interested to see how they innovate in this new title.
