The dreadfully named Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars is now launching in 2025 — but at least we've finally got a confirmed release date to look forward to. The two-game collection arrives on PS5 and PS4 on the 6th March. That PS5 version is new, by the way — the remastered package had only been locked down for PS4 previously.
Anyway, you can catch a fresh look at both titles via the above trailer. They're still looking like fairly impressive remasters of two classic RPGs.

This looks absolutely fantastic. I’ll be getting this day one.
Looooved Suikoden playing it on the Vita. Never did play 2!
Day one,no question asked. Suikoden 2 is a masterpiece. Thank you Yoshitaka Murayama, for this fantastic games and may you rest in peace.❤️
Never played either of these. May give these a shot at some point finally with these nice looking remasters. I do have several JRPGs already in my backlog.
Suikoden is finally back! and a release date too, I've been waiting for this! Day one for me! though I hope they bring a physical ver too
I remember playing the first Suikoden game but wasn't into it very much compared to the 2nd game. I'll give it another chance this time around and of course, can't wait to play Suikoden 2 again.
Maybe a weird comparison, but I bought the Grandia collection last spring when it came to Playstation. I played the first game and enjoyed it a lot. I also have a weirdly soft spot for those 90's JRPGs despite being mostly a 2000's kid, I assume these games will be right up my alley?
Please tell me it will be available on disc!!!
@PerpetualBoredom Yeah i want to know if it have physical release. I already owned Suikoden 1 & 2 PS1 classics so i don't want to get another digital copy.
Hell yes!!
About damn time. Day 1 buy for sure
Suikoden you say? Sounds interesting
I have 106 platinums. When this collection was announced I thought I'd wait on other games and "almost platinum" them instead, just so my 108th would be Suikoden. I've been doing that for 2 years. Glad it seems not much longer now.
I am conflicted. I don't like the contrast of the HD backgrounds with the same eavily pixelated characters. It's gonna take some getting used to.
@Suur Yes, they will be. Suikoden 2 is great and i rank it as high as the first two Grandia games. The first Suikoden is alright, but it didn't hit me the same way. Perhaps cause i played Suikoden 2 first.
love Suikoden 2 but the graphical improvements seem hit and miss... Hope they implement the safe transfer feature
Whilst I know Playstation marketing seems to prefer pushing the mega blockbusters &/or new indies, the Suikoden games were very much part of PS1 folklore as per the later Final Fantasy games were! Missed opportunity...again!
Oh well,at least no timed exclusives. Let's hope the delay has meant Konami has allowed the devs to do the job properly rather than rush it out on the back of Eiyuden Chronicle's launch. 🙏🤞
@InsaneWade not (yet?) in Germany (+_+)
Never played this series and really love how the remasters look definitely will be getting day one.
The original version for both games now cost an absolutely fortune so the remasters will definitely will be the way I’ll experience both games for the first time
